Looks great mate. You must have that sence of "achievement " every one Keeps talking about. Will be interested to here that final weight. What paint did you end up using on the exterior & how did you apply it? The paint I'm using...well I wouldn't call it paint. It is strange stuff but the company rep told me it is idea for caravans. It is Luxury Paints Coolit Ceram, one coat of primer and 2 coats of colour, it is a roof paint but is hard wearing, I have brushed and rolled, the brushing comes up with a smoother finish and rolling leaves a stipple finish but it looks OK I don't mind it.
It has the consistency of yogurt and the primer doesn't smell anything like paint at all, while the top coat does smell a bit like an acrylic paint. It is water based acrylic. Only comes in set colours and is available in 4ltrs or larger and coverage is 10-12sqm per ltr and it has an 70% gloss so looks good. I will be contacting them again to find out if I can use the primer under other paint so when I paint the bottom of the sides.
The final weight should be 750kgs or less if it goes over then will move stuff out of the van and onto the ute as it has loads more payload.
It is nice knowing that at anytime we can hook up and go but it will take some time to get use to using a caravan as we had our camper trailer for over 10 years and one thing that bother me was it seemed when setting up the caravan I was missing something - it was to easy, to quick, what had I forgotten ? It will just take a few trips and a bit of time.
Cheers

It seems strange to post an update now that we are using the van....anyway I pulled the door off and remove the frame that I managed to break a few months back, tapped out the 2 broken bits of alloy angle and using some 3mm flat alloy bar made 2 new brackets/braces, tapped the frame back together and using some strip caulking tape soon had the frame sealed and back into place, while I had the door off I bought a new lock for it and fitted new fly screens as well. Due to some wear in the hinges I place some small flat washers between the frame and door hinges which lifted the door and moved it back up towards the top. I have also finished painting the front of the van and have started doing the back section, well will as soon as this rain nic's off. I also bought a through wall TV aerial socket that we go towards the back of the van and a new manual water pump, which has been fitted. I will try and get the painting of the out side of the van finished in the next 2 weeks and finished up a couple of small jobs inside as well.
I'm thinking about August I will remove the first window for an overhaul, now that is going to be interesting.....hey Al you want a job ha ha ha
Cheers

My wife has finally given permission for me to show you the finished interior
Looking from the front to the rear
From the rear to the front
The kitchen and the stove
The cupboard
Those red things are lounge cushions, we put them against the wall and turn the beds into a lounge for watching TV or reading etc. I have also fitted new mud flaps before going away on Friday and I'm glad I did as it rained Saturday night.
Cheers

The final completed 1978 Millard Micro Caravan recycled by ME. I was looking for the resto/recycle thread but in all honesty neither of those terms really do justice to your fine Millard, re jigged to maximize the space, re loved the new surface finishes, re lived as it has another life on the road.

Another addition for the van, more bench space.
Some 4mm ply, some paint and then floor vinyl and glue.
The hole I want to fill
And 2 days later - bench space
