Today I went up to the Darling Downs to pick up our new S/H caravan and while at the property said to the people it seems quite cool up here, nice breeze wasn't hot but by the time I drove down the range into the Lockyer valley, the car's themo fan was running non stop and the air coming through the window was hot...37deg they say it was, and it felt it too, Cheers

Howdy Lockyer Well I've just been looking at the weekly weather forecast for my area for this coming week and seriously Summer is on it's way . The thing with the forecast in the link is that it is Emerald Airports forecast and by the time you add another degree or two for Sapphires (60 klm away) temperature readings then it is going to be very Tropicana around here. Might have to bite the bullet and crank up the generator for a couple of afternoons (or alternatively start Happy hour in the afternoons a lot earlier lol ) By the way what sort of new s/h caravan did you buy ? Cheers Andy www.meteorology.com.au/local-forecast/qld/sapphire

Hi Andy
Mate it is a 1978(?) Millard pop top, my first job was to raise the roller door on the shed by 200mm so as to get the little lady in to it.
Your temps for Friday thru to Tue are almost identical to our temps at Gatton..

I had a 1974 Millard 22 footer in the early 1980s and it was a great van and had many good times in her (although towing it with the old XW Station Wagon was sometimes a bit scary : Its good that you can get your van in a shed as they do get knocked around when sitting in the weather all the time I know Gatton quite well although its been over 30 years since I stayed there in the old caravan park down by the railway line and yes Gatton is a place of extremes where it can be really hot coming into summer and freezing cold in the winter when the wind whips down from the range . I suppose that one good thing about this hot weather is that the beer always tastes good at the end of a 40 deg day....I'll have one in your honour at the end of today !! Cheers Andy
