We've recently purchased our first caravan, a Viscount which were initially told by the seller was a 1980, but it seems older than that and the rego papers state 1975. The outside has been repainted along the way somewhere so I haven't been able to match it's markings up to the photos in the Viscount history thread. The chassis has either G666 or 6666 on marked on it. Would love some help with dating it if anyone can help? The exterior is a textured metal rather than a flat surface if that makes sense. Will take a photo of it close up tomorrow. In the meantime, here are a few photos I've got on my phone of it:
We've already done quite a bit to it since these photos were taken. It had been partially painted inside but the quality of work wasn't great so we ended up repainting all the walls and ceiling white and cupboards in a sunny yellow. Have added a couple of wallpaper feature walls with original retro wall paper to play up the retro feel. Currently part way through laying the new vinyl floor and making new curtains and it will almost be ready to make it's first journey! Can't wait! We were lucky in that it is structurally good, has had some inside panels replaced by a previous owner and no damp or rot, so our work has been mostly cosmetic things. Have had a bit of a browse through the forum and have loved looking at all the photos of other people's renovations. I think I'm hooked on this world of caravans already!

Here's a pic of the texture on the exterior of the van:

Mid to late 60's, 1965 Viscounts had a wooden frame.

Thanks Rattles, it is metal framed so that helps. I guess that takes me over to the Vintage forum?
