Hi every one
Ive been trying to find new handles for our Franklin but unable to find any at all, which is a bummer, still need 4,
But getting back to the point ,has any one thought of using electroplating to do the old handles back to new condition
I would need to get 12 done and what price am i looking at, is it worth doing

We have an old time barrel plater in ballarat.  As you can see I have used him a couple of times. Are they handles proper metal or muck metal crap ? There's some pictures here of rusted greasy filthy crap I dropped off at ballarat heat treatments. Hi Shane, there an alloy i would say, i did got to the panel beater and he said they were electroplated
Is it expensive to get done, just in gold like they were

plating is generally quite cheap if you have a local barrel plater. Alloy will dissolve in there cleaning chemical no doubt. I think you would probably need to get them anodized.

What does that mean, please, also would you be willing to get them done for me if i sent them to you as i dont have any one here that does this sort of thing

Thanks for putting that link up Shane, i dont think that would do as the colour looks wrong plus im not that conferdent in doing it
Wonder if any one else could have an idea of how the handles were done before they went on the van
As far as i know this subject has not been put up before so answers will be interesting for me and others
