Greetings Everyone Well as the title of this thread suggests there is going to be a clean up of memberships
Now if you are reading this and you are logged on We can guarantee you won't be one that is cleaned up... so to speak.
Since Classic caravans was first put on the web it has slowly grown to about 90 members Which is excellent.....
Problem is .. of those nearly 90 there are many that haven't logged on since joining up,,,,, dating back to sept 07 Those that haven't logged on may only be looking instead of logging on.... There could be a million reasons why we haven't seen or heard from them... Sooooo
To give us a more realistic view of how many members are actively using this site we will have a clean up of memberships
Down to business 1: If you have logged on in the past 6 months you are safe
2: We won't start removing memberships until March 09
3: Should you receive an email from me .... please log in and post me a PM saying you are still actively viewing the site. Or reply to my email address which you will have at that time.
4: If for any reason we have deleted your membership by mistake... it will be just that .... a mistake... please rejoin.
That's about all there is to it.... So by April this year we should have a more realistic view of how many active members we have...
From the team at Classic Caravans Thanks for being apart of this great site.

Greetings All Well as you may have noticed the membership has now dropped to 74
The reason is of course the inactive members have been deleted By inactive I mean those that haven't logged in for over 6months and haven't replied to the email I sent to all those that needed to be deleted
IF I HAVE REMOVED YOUR NAME AND YOU HAVE LOGGED IN Please reapply Anyone deleted by accident ..... I apologise
Hopefully none will have been deleted by mistake
Cheers Atouchofglass

Hey Ladies and Gents
Clean up time again
Have sent emails to any member that hasn't logged in since March of this year..... believe it or not 8 months ago
Will delete those that ask to be deleted or that don't reply by Mid November
Any invalid email addresses have already been deleted Only found 2
So once again if you have been deleted and didn't want to be It was a mistake and sorry You are more than welcome to join again
In all there were 27 members sent emails It gives us a more realistic view of how many are using the site regularly
I also realise that some may only have access to computers on odd occasions To those I also apologise in advance for removing your membership if I have
Cheers and all the best Atog

To anyone that has been deleted and still wants to be apart of Classic Caravans please reapply
Membership clean ups are necessary and there is no intent to offend

Hey Everyone Just thought I should update this thread As you all will be aware Some times people join up to a group on a spur of the moment thing and never really do anything about it after that. Some lose interest and others just join to sell a van or similar reason I have no problem with any of the above..... all valid points of view and reasons Which brings me to the clean up process Up until recently I was emailing those that were no longer active and waiting for replies before removing them. A fairly drawn out process that would get even longer as we get more members. NowIf the member hasn't logged in at least once in 6 months I will remove the membership It's all about keeping the numbers current not just those that have passed through. This is not a problem just good house keeping So If you find that six months has past and that rat Atog has removed your membership Sorry But that is the only way I can currently keep things cleaned up without a lot of time wasting Remember this Moderator bit is voluntary.... So we can keep out work load low this is how I clean up the non current memberships Thanks for being understanding Cheers Atog

Well I've been at it again You will note that from a membership of over 460 we have dropped to just under 400. And sadly some of the long term members were lost in this one as well. By the way. As a courtesy to those that have posted regularly and seem to have gone inactive I usually leave them on for not one year but two. Nice to have had them aboard, sad to have lost there input and company. Not so cheery Atog

Major clean up tonight everyone. In just over three hours we lost close on 150 members. That is a significant amount to lose but just goes to show how many don't log on regularly.
On a brighter note I saw one member who only has posted three times since 2008. And yet was on the forum as recently as last month. Shows that posting lots isn't needed - just need to log on.
So the numbers are down to 317..... Will soon grow, it always has.
Until next time... Keep on logging on..... ;D ;D ;D ;D
Cheers Atog

Hi Everyone
I have started to do a little housework. You will notice the numbers are dropping.
I have commenced deleting unactivated accounts and those that haven't logged in for 12 months or more.

So if your a lurker and don't get around to logging on be warned I am deleting all that have not been active in the past 12 months..

Hey Folks
A recent observation... If you log on to this forum as 'invisible' the forum does not record your activity in the member status. It appears the only time it will record you as being on line is when you post.
So when I do my clean ups If you have not posted I will not know that you are a regular. There is a good chance you will be removed.

Hey Folks
I am getting ready to do a bit of a clean up... So a reminder. If you log on to this forum as 'invisible' the forum does not record your activity in the member status.
If there has been no activity by a member for 12 months or more I will delete that member.
