Hi a few weeks ago I was asking for some help re chesney Kampa mk4. Well it is going great and have been away for a weekend in it, difficult to get roof up but once, twice and then all went well.
Lo and behold, still have Chesney but another enquiry while looking for vans led to thatowner contacting me last week saying that I can have his van for $1(as long as it moved away quickly). I said thankyou very much and moved it last weekend.
So now I have a second caravan. Old rego papers say 1978 Millard, M50624 plate , approx 13.5 foot long, galvanised frame, Layout is front wall then centre table with seat each side ( convertible bed), left side doorway, opposite 3 way fridge, then l/side, wardrobe, opp gas stove, then rear double bed, outside normal alum cladding, inside normal ply and between studs are metal, not timber. Everything original except many years ago replacement fridge.
Some photos as soon as I learn or are shown how!
Water damage is extensive through most of ceiling, part of wall, and floor area particularly around rear bed ( in fact two legs of bed were punctured through floor). I had passed this van every day sitting in the weather at front of a house for nearly 24 years and I think it had never moved. Not registered since about 2008, but I sneaked it home about 3km and it is now under super cheap carport beside my house.
So I have Chesney Kampa to use now and Millard cvan to fix up, when I can afford and have time to do so. The id of M50624 seems different to discussion about other Millard in forum. I like to learn age and how to repair water damage. First quote said expect about $16000. Have another quote next Tuesday 24 June. But hope and expect that i may have to tackle the daunting task myself! I will really appreciate any advice on Millard and its necessary repair.
