Hi,
This is my first post on this site. I have been reading this site about the history of the Viscount van since I now own one I thought I would get involved. I purchased my 1979 Supreme from a guy 30km inland from Kempsey NSW who had done all the hard and important work. He had replaced all the running gear like suspension, axles wheels tyres even the A frame draw bar, as he was going to travel in it. The floor inside was stripped back to timber and was missing a double bed and needed a good tidy up. I have added laminated floor, gas lift bed, 24" Full Hd LCD TV, LG Blueray 5.1 surround sound, led strip lighting, airconditioning, slimline venetians, 15' Carefree Awning, electric hot water tap, newer door and gave her a complete respray in white auto enamel and greenish metallic contrast late 2013. The roof is done with Thermoshield which insulates from heat and is waterproof. The curved corner windows are now in clear Lexan as they were milky and ugly. My next step is 4 x 100w flexible solar panels that are only 3kg each plus the related charging gear to come. I owned a 15' mid 70's Millard before this viscount for 12 good years holidaying in and it sold for more than I paid for it when sold in 2012. I really like the classic style of this series of Viscount and hope you like her as well. I threw in a photo of the old Millard for posterity's sake! which now lives in Toowoomba Qld.

Hi Paul, nice van! My name is Karen and I'm in the early stages of a reno/repair of a 1978 Viscount Supreme (my thread on here is S88038). I bought more of a project than I intended to lol and have no idea what I'm doing but learning as I go and having fun doing it I love the shape of the Viscount and am really looking forward to having mine ready to take away on family holidays!

G'day Paul, and welcome to the forum! You would have to be very, very happy with the way your van has turned out - what a beauty! Can you tell us the original chassis number please? I'll add it to the title of the thread. Gotta love the old Viscounts. cheers, Al.

Hi Al,
Nice to know what those numbers mean. So it is even more "Vintage" than I thought.
Cheers
