G'day karenpaul, and welcome to the forum! Usually people take their van to the nearest public weighbridge and get it weighed. Where I am, we get a docket from the weighbridge operator that shows the tare weight of the van. If you don't have a weighbridge anywhere near you, your local registration authorities may allow you to estimate the tare weight. For a 24ft Viscount high rise, I would estimate the tare weight to be somewhere in the vicinity of 1800kgs if it's got a toilet and shower in it. Hope this helps, cheers, Al.

Thanks Al. We just wanted an idea before we hook it up to the car. It does have a shower and toilet cubicle in it , but it is not set up for use. Fridge and stove have been removed, no beds in it. But we have stuck a whopping great air con on it. Will head to weighbridge and then on to finalise rego. Already sorted electrical certificate. Will post some photos to satisfy the curious (and because I have learnt a bit from other people's pics.)
