That’s the sort of thing I have in mind. There are quite a few holes in the door frame from previous locks and handles. Might need a new aluminum strip in order to start again. Thank you for taking a photo- appreciate it. That’s a dead bolt basically, with a handle? Could I bother you to take a couple more pictures of inside and side on?

That would be awesome. Zip ties can only last so long.... Because the door metal had been chewed out with various fasteners, I used metal threads "through" the door with Acorn nuts on the exit side. The brass lock had to be reduced to fit a new striking plate. I don't know how it ever worked before?? There must be left/right hand models, but at $90+ I was going to repair what I had. The stricker plate was worn out, so I filled the hole with epoxy & fitted another plate.

Mustang - To make the Lockwood night latch to work on an external opening door it is only a matter of unscrewing (Usually 1 screw) the backing plate and turn the tongue over.

Thanks so much for these photos. Is that a Lockwood narrow stile 200 lock??? They are good locks, but around $200. Might just have to bite the bullet and do it. Definitely going to need to redo the aluminum strip on the door somehow.

Well a busy couple of days on the old girl, but I’m pretty happy with the results. Darling wife has decided to paint the roof. I’ve put a deadbolt in to secure the door properly, which was an all day job. Also rigged up the aerial and put in a remote on/off switch for the inverter. Have attached photos of it all. Off to Airlie Beach on Sunday.... hoping the cyclone stays away.😎

I did the roof on ours where you can't see with a sealing paint as luck would have it also an insulating paint and it works as when it is 45+deg here I can still touch the top of the four seasons hatch from underneath and the temp it is is a long way from what it should be. as for the sealing properties I can only assume that part works as I spent weeks getting all the sealing done and those pesky staple holes covered. Have fun you have a good van there.

You have to log on a bit more mate. 😊 Van is now up in the sun a long way from here. New owner is on their first holiday in it at Airlie Beach at the moment - hopefully will see some pics and a report once they return. 👍😊 Really happy this family ended up with it - they were so excited to get it and I know they'll do the Arrow proud and create some fantastic memories around it. Was a hard decision to let it go, but once I landed the Viscount, I couldn't keep both and I'd been asking the PO of the Viscount for nearly a year to sell it to me, so when they said they wouI couldn't pass it up.

So a quick update on the Franklin's new life in North Queensland. Have been to Mission Beach and Airlie Beach over the past two months - both trips outstanding. I have included a couple of photographs here for those interested. The Franklin tows very well behind the Navara and although I had to create a new 7 pin round plug to change it from the 12 Pin flat the Gav had, everything seems to be in good order. There is a small gap in the front right corner which I will have to get into at some stage before our really big trip to Byron in December, but that will be a weekend job only I am anticipating. A few little changes - new cushions and covers, new curtains, changed the door locking mech, a new half shelf in the cupboard near the door and when the gas bottle runs out, I will be purchasing a new one, as in QLD we have some strict nanny state laws about gas bottles. The next trip for the Franklin is on Thursday this week - we are off to Bundaberg for the state hockey titles (not me - my daughter) and that is a good 12 hour drive each way so looking forward to a nice break and maybe getting a surf in at 1770.
