Hi,
We have just purchase what we think is a 1978 model, Millard Mini Pop Top. However, ours is a tandem axle model and I am wondering if these are rare because I have never seen one before and cannot see any mention of one on here.
The van is very sound (apart from some stains in three corners and some water damage in one, the fridge and stove work well and we have to replace the canvas on the pop-top. It has a double bed in the rear, front club lounge and a side kitchen opposite a couch that folds up to twin bunks. With the annexe being lie new, it is a great family caravan.
I will look at the chassis number today and post it, but am wondering if anyone has seen this layout before? This is a great forum for information so keep up the good work!!!!

G'day dualaxlepoptop, and welcome to the forum! I really don't know how many dual axle poptops Millard built, so it's hard to say whether they are in the "rare" category or not. When they started building the poptop vans in early 1976, they were built in 12ft and 14ft sizes only. Then sometime near the end of '77 they started to build the longer 16ft versions as well (and the name 'Millard Mini' seems a bit rich for a 16ft van, heh heh). I wouldn't say I've seen a heap of the longer vans, but I have seen them crop up on ebay on occasions. cheers, Al.

Just to add to this - and I know there has been some discussion regarding Chassis numbers, the chassis number on my van is MM4024 - this is a number that I am yet to see anything similar spoken of on here.
My Millard Mini has 06/78 stamped on the Gas Compliance Plate.
