Hello - new to the forum. Only found you all yesterday. We picked up our Viscount Royal (only know this by stickers on roof) about 3 years ago. A spur of the moment buy as we drove past it with a for sale sign on the side of the road. Guy and his son were living in it. Making there way around Australia as painters. The last job the guy gave them the caravan as payment and as they were heading back home they were looking to get rid of. No details about the van (there is an old name and address on the canvas bags that hold pegs etc but no way knowing when they owned the van.) The lack of registration or any paperwork made re-registration a nightmare but got there in the end. We have had a few family trips away, in fact heading off this Saturday for 5 nights with a number of other families. They all take tents and camper vans and we rock up in the van - it's great.
Anyway, I have taken some pictures which I will now try to load. - OK, got to figure this out, post message now, pictures to come, hopefully.
If you can help me with any details that would be great - I am guessing 1970 from what I read here - I saw the other thread where there was a very similar van but I think it was a bigger number. As per the thread title, the chasis number is 1909A.
Thanks Scott

G'day Scott, and welcome to the forum! I'm thinking your van is more likely from 1971. I don't really know when Viscount changed the chassis numbering system and put the 'A' at the end of the numbers, but I'm basing my estimates of Viscount ages on that happening in 1971. I'm going to shift this whole thread over to the Hall Of Fame section, so if you're looking for it to add any further info, you'll find it over there. I'll do the shift tomorrow. cheers, Al.
