Hi It's the (eskyman) here or Matt this is my first post of my new 1974 10ft? Franklin Arrow caravan i had been trying to find one of these for ages everywhere but of all places to find it was my home town of Colac. I am the 3rd owner of the van as the person i bought it off towed it home from the first owner and it sat in the shed for 2 years and never shifted, as for the orignal first owners im yet to contact them but as far as i know they used it a bit but i know it has been across the Nullarbor Plain about 3 times hence the a/c above the bed.Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

Hi Matt and welcome to the forum.
What a great little van and find. I hope you get many years of fun from using it.
It looks like it is great condition. Thanks for showing the photos.

Hi Matt, great little van,but its not an Arrow, they were much squarer looking and models started at 15ft. Yours is a Franklin Regent, which were made in sizes from 10.6 to 19.6,and are commonly called a Franklin egg! Still a beautiful van though! Cheers hughdeani

Hi eskyman,if you look anywhere for Franklin Arrow you will see its an entirely different lookin model! Sticker obviously put on by mistake or by someone who doesnt know what sort of van it is. Cheers hughdeani. btw, have a look at the great reconstruction on here of the 19ft single axle version being done at present.

Just a quick update I put my rego sticker on the other day for the last time as they a getting rid of rego lables in Victoria, as for the rest of the jobs time to strip the rims back and paint them red as I'm going to run white wall flappers and making a second spare wheel holder (with bearing set attached) for 2 spares just in case.
Oh I'm thinking about painting the green stripes in red to match the rims maybe?

Hi eskyman I wonder if whether your van is a 1974 model. I would have though it would have wind-out windows for that year ??. Wind-out were available from late '71/ early '72 if I am correct. Cheers boblor

Well i got a little done this weekend as it rained all weekend, I stripped the paint off the 4 rims as I'm putting 2 spares on the front and got them all primed ready for the colour Redneck Red!
I was going to get them powder coated but the cost was just too dear. Uploaded with ImageShack.usSome more progress pics of the rim painted red and finished, I am just waiting on my Portawall White wall inserts so i can put on the tyres.Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Congratulations on your win. Love your setup. I see you are using an Oztrail gazebo as an awning. I would like to do this but have thought that it would be too low for the van door to open even with the legs fully extended. How have you done it?

It was my mates gazebo and with the legs fully extended it just cleared sort of.
