Hi guys, we are newbies to your forum, we found, we think is a viscount ambassador. The chassis number, from what we have read here tells us it is an ambassador, is E8100, can anyone help us on the year of manufacture?

G'day asgw, and welcome to the forum! ;D Apologies for not answering sooner, but your post slipped by without me noticing it. E8100 will be from February 1969. How can I be so specific?? Well, as it turns out, a former member of our sister forum for Vintage caravans has a Viscount Ambassador with the chassis number of E8135 (35 after yours) and he found the date of February 1969 on the back of some panelling when he was stripping the van out (read the story here ) You can join the Vintage forum if you like. It covers vans built before January 1970. Or, you can stay here with us if you prefer. Up to you... ;D ;D cheers, Al.

G'day falcongt29, The chassis number tells you it's a 1974 model (the first number), and the first letter 'R' tells you it's a Royal model. Have a look through the Viscount vans in our Museum section and you should get an idea of what the inside might have looked like. Viscount built up to 64 different floor plans, so you might have to search a lot of Viscounts to find one that was the same as yours. cheers, Al.
