Hi, I am just about to start tidying up the outside of my 1971 Viscount and I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with cleaning up the old aluminium window frames. They were never powder coated and just have the bare silver aluminium finish. Over time they have become a very dull grey colour. Any suggestions on how to bring them back to look like new?

G'day remaim, This is another one of those questions that will get a heap of different answers, depending on what people have tried and succeeded with. Way back in 2009, there was a discussion about aluminium windows, so you can have a read of that thread for starters: cleaning aluminium window framesI've read of people speaking highly about purple polish. When I did the Millard poptop resto, I pulled the windows apart and got stuck into them with soapy steel wool, and that cleaned them up nicely. I'm sure other members have tried various ways of doing their windows, so hopefully they'll share some of their insights. cheers, Al.
