Thanks mate
I'm chasing 240v converted to 12V for when we're in a caravan park and want to run the batteries up and use 12v without being hooked up to the car
So I'll look that one up today
Cheers Atog

G'Day Atog, Glad to hear that you managed to get your hands on that transformer, ;D I haven't heard you make any mention of putting in a circuit breaker or an RDC switch into your van when you do the re-wiring these are a must for every-ones safety, so if it hasn't occurred to you ...ask the electrician who is doing the job about fitting one, don't forget to get an electrical compliance certificate attached to the Olympic when he has finnished to job. ;D ;D ;D cheers and beers, kiwijim

Hey Kiwijim Thanks for the concern mate The van will have more switches than Cape Canaveral More breakers than Bondi And more cable than a cat house ;D So the fuse box is looking a little household at this point. Have a look at the last lot of photos in Atog's 68 Olympic The sparkie that is doing the work is also setting up a couple of relays so I can turn the main lights on and off from the front and back of the van independent of each other. After all that is done I will try doing the 12V electrics myself.... Haven't bought the lights yet as there are a lot of other things to do first... Such as wire brush and paint the chassis Fix a hole in the fibreglass at the rear of one wheel ... photos to follow And a whole other list of things Week after next I'll be off work for all week to make some serious inroads to the work needing to be done on the Olympic... And possibly even have some time off.... It's been a couple of years since I've had a proper holiday and it appears it will be at least another six months before I get another... The van will be the escape machine if I can fix it and get a tow car Cheers Atog

Just a quick query!! Can the 12 v AC output of that transformer be used to charge the 12 v DC battery in the van? Normally, I would have used a 240v AC battery charger with a 12v DC output to charge the battery and/or use for 12v DC lighting when in a caravan park.
