Howdy. Finally, I have got a real towcar......well it's not a blue oval, but at least it was made in the 70s....just. Just yesterday this 7/1979 HZ Kingswood SL landed on my doorstep. Funny how things happen. Sunday night, thought I'd poke round on 'that auction site' to see what was about, by 10pm, lo and behold, I had executed the 'buy-it-now' on the HZ from a seller only 20km away, who was good enough to deliver to my work the next arvo! Anyway, she is a fairly straight and rust free 202, 4 speed Kingy, extractors, dual fuel, proper alloy Dragway mags,....and importantly, a towbar!. Oh yeh, and a wooden sports twirler!....No power steerin or 'fred astair' here folks, and the sound system.....unfortunately it is not an 8 track, but it is radio/cassette. First thing is to call local mechanic to check it over for a RWC then its all good! Anyway, here is the first pic, I will get some more on the weekend when I get it home from work again (and in daylight). As I am (supposedly) a Ford man, have been cracking Ted Bullpit jokes for the last 2 days at work....not the Kingswood! Cheers, Gristy

he he Atog. Yeh when I worked in the car trade we used to call it Dog Di## Red. ironically, I now have a blue Ford and a red holden. Cant get more appropriate than that! I've owned a couple of canary yellow cars in my time too - Both from the 70s. Yeh HZs were holdens last real family car, before they replaced the torana with the commodore ;D Cheers, Gristy

Atog, I worked in the trade, I got names for everything. Either slang, trade related or ryming slang..... Nappy brown (as you put it baby poo) 90 day yellow (means it will be on the car lot for 90 days at least coz no one will want to buy it) British racing white There are some other general car terms surrounding accessories/options, see if you can guess: 'fred astair' 'hook' 'roof' 'nose pack' 'hitch' 'boots' One of my faves, a type of car: a 'harold holt' Anyway, another pic of my HZ: Cheers bigears, Gristy ;D

HHHMMMMM Too early in the morning to think but here goes nothin Hook and hitch ...... tow bar boots.... tyres Fred Astair.... Air Roof.... roof rack or vinyl roof cover Nose pack..... bonnet scoop or air dam? Harold Holt is slang for "bolt" as in leave quickly but I would guess the car would be a Colt? How'd I do??? We had similar but nicknames for various workers I'll give you one and you guess the rest Nutgrass..... you never know where he would pop up next Singlet Blue healer Marajuana Aspro One of the annoying apprentices' surname is F.W. You can guess what we think the F.W. stands for. Anyhow the HZ looks in top condition.. be proud and drive loud Atog
