Staying at the Belair Gardens Caravan park..........mmmmmmmmm, love that name! Very retro. May need to book quick as this is quite a big weekend. We are going up in convoy along the New Indian Ocean Drive Saturday.........may see you on the road

nuts, Crap Bugger etc. etc. Drivers side rear window in the old EK Wagon has been leaking a bit this winter. Open up the tailgate and give it a little shove...........50 year old rubber and seal has finally given up the ghost Do the righty and take it into the local glass joint to get the window re-fitted and sealed.......receive a call back saying " Sorry Bob, can't re-fit the window, the seal is crumbling away " So now we are 2 weeks away from the Geraldton show......the EK wagon has no rear window, Rare Spares have no seals available until the second week in October, Scotts Auto Rubber have none on hand and now am relying on E-Bay to have one "priority" posted to us ASAP. Not helping the cause is the fact that my local glass fitter goes on holidays next week So if you see an old wagon at the show with no rear window, you'll know who it is!

I think I will be going with my 75 modern and Val' leaving from Collie and would like to add to the convoy. ah yes 100 mile tape and plastic sheet should do the job, I look forward to seeing it Cheers Graeme.

Gudday Graeme. We got an invitation to join a convoy of cars and vans from a member of the FE/FC Holden Club. They are leaving north Perth 8a.m. on the Saturday morning. Helen and I will be leaving Waroona Friday lunch time hopefully and heading through to the Pinnacles Caravan Park in Cervantes. An overnight stay there will save trying to join the Perth mob at 8 o'clock in the morning We will meet them on the Indian Ocean Drive at Cervantes and join them for the rest of the cruise to Geraldton on Saturday. You would be welcome to join us on the cruise up from Waroona on Friday arvo, or can get up REAL early and be in North Perth by 8 a.m Saturday

Howdy docbob, If you have stayed in the Belair Caravan Park before, you will know what it is like. If not, be careful and check the water at the taps before you fill your caravan. We were in Geraldton a few years back and stopped in a Caravan Park there ( Don't think it was the Belair ) We filled our tanks before heading North, it wasn't until that following evening that we found the tanks were full of........ Rank Bore water, >: (definitely un-drinkable, I had to flush out the whole system and tanks, the smell was overpowering. The tap we used was one beside the Power Connection on the caravan Site, there were no signs warning that the water was from a Bore, this could have been disastrous if we were out in the bush hundreds of KM's from any other water. Have a great trip, if I still had the Classic we would have joined you. Cheers kiwijim

Thanks for the heads-up KiwiJim. Fortunately we live in the beautiful hills of Waroona and have no mains water supply. As such we are dependant on rainwater tanks and pumps. Before every trip we drain and refill the little van with pure rainwater straight out of the tap ;D Just to be sure, we always carry around an extra 15 litres just in case something goes wrong with the tank/pump/hoses in the van. Believe me I know exactly the dilemma you have mentioned from many years as a young fella travelling around up north thinking he could just turn on a tap anywhere and take a big gulp of water I think the worst would have to of been a mouthful of artesian bore water in Coral Bay!
