G'day gav, Sounds like you're going on a serious shopping spree? Battery...plywood...genny... Nothing like a bit of "retail therapy" to help with the restoration, ay! The price for the 15mm double sided ply sounds like a good deal. Is it actually coated with something on both sides, or is it just the plain timber faces? I know Bunnings sell their C-D grade 12mm ply for $49 per sheet, and that's a really low grade ply, so if what you're talking about is pretty good quality stuff, then 60 bucks a sheet is good value. Can't help with the battery side of things, or the genny, sorry. A few people on here bought the 4.4kva Fuji Micro generators that are sold on ebay, and they seem to be happy with them. cheers, Al.

G'day gav, Struth! You're working like a "man possessed"! It must be a good feeling to be well past the half-way mark. Won't be too long before you'll be sitting back in a chair admiring all the hard work you've done to get it finished. cheers, Al.

G'day gav, Amazing stuff! This van is going to be a real "top shelf" effort. ;D ;D Do you really need to paint the back of the fridge? I reckon I'd repaint the front door surround where it's rusted, and leave the rear how it is. Who's gonna see the rear? cheers, Al.

hi AL. thanks for the feedback AL. the rear of the fridge is more exposed, as the van has a full size vent the same size as the fridge. i think it might need a bit of protection?? thinking out loud. cheers Gav

If you have a full length vent at the rear of the fridge I suggest you read the article in the attached link. The air flow should pass through the cooling fins at the top of the fridge and with a full length the chamber at the back there will be no flow. I think you need to block up the middle section and also add baffles to force the convection current of air through the cooling fins. www.caravanandmotorhomebooks.com/articles/installing-rv-fridges.htmlRattles

Hi all. With a few helpers, a heap of stuff got done around here. Not all caravan, but it did help Old work van, sitting on the front lawn, got looked at. Burnt valve no2 pot!! not worth fixing. Cars for scrap come Monday. One less thing hanging around. Land cruiser had its water leek fixed, thank to my RACV mate Steve While he was here, he ripped out the rattle gun. No more water tank, springs, axle & tested every bit of wiring in the van. We worked out how the roll out awing is going to work & made a template Biggggest job by far was cutting down the new door to fit the van. What a #@%$& of a job. It only needed 235mm off the height !! easy, NO!! Triple lock door, 117.5mm each end so the hinges & locks would work!! All Sunday, but it is done ;D ;D Put one of the new windows in. Boss happy cheers Gav
