Well the rain's have finally arrived, I have taken the arvo off from the caravan repairs and instead I'm sitting on my back verandah listening to the storm and rain on our tin roof. My wife has to give everything a name, our camper trailer was called Cubbie and our car is called Darcey(I have no idea why !) Anyway my lovely lady has been pestering me to come up with a name for our new van - me I couldn't be bother thinking about names while up to my arms in old paint dirt and spiders while repairing the van's chassis.
Well at lunch, out came the laptop and she is busy reading out names for the van, and none of them grabbed me, so while cleaning up down the shed I started to think about it and came up with a few names and when I headed inside I tested them on the wife and we now have a winner- forever more our little van will be called "Wichway" I have left the "h" out as a play with the word. Where ever we travel and we come across a "T" intersection or a fork etc the first thing I always say is which way ! That how I came up with the name.
Cheers
PS Will do up a post next week in my HOF topic about the chassis repairs with photo's

Gold! And a top road trip name for the above naviguessing comments Where i am on a busy road atm i have noticed many signwritten van names on all sorts of caravans, so was pondering this & so far am sticking with "Arrow" an easy cop out as it is the style of the thing but as it is my home decided the old song was cool & described the wandering around situation well, now to find a name the freakin tug!

Well our van is a Capricorn Birdie Deluxe so what else would you call a Birdie if not Tweety Bird. So naturally the car is called Sylvester !!!!

When the kids were really little we borrowed a friends tiny pop-top and the kids couldn't say caravan, so they called it a 'can' consequently all caravans are now called "the Can"

Don't ask me why, but I named my Modern (WA made), "Roxanne". Would never have thought of calling it something but about the same time I "dragged" it home, I saw something on here about calling your van by name. Roxanne came to mind, so I thought, yep, that's it. Not as if I have ever known a Roxanne either. Cheers

"UAS" short for "Ugly As Sin" it was a prototype built in Castlemaine in the 60's only a mother could love the shape of it. It sits in my shed buried under a pile of stuff waiting for me to get back to it.

"MAN" I thought that project was finished around 4 years ago Any chance we could see it at the next Nationals in 2016 or is that pushing it a bit. !! kiwijim

Well I'll be... he lives and breaths
Narr the project stalled along with some other things. Best way to described it was other things in life got in the way. But.. There is no way SWMBO would let me go to the Nationals on my own. There is no way she would sleep in Ugly, That has been made very clear. Sort of leaves only one alternative, kinda defeats the purpose of going to Vintage Caravan National when your towing a white BOX
But if your going to be there..

my teardrop is called penny because that was the budget the hand brake gave me to build it,i must say i used anything that would work.the frame came from an old trailer,i was given, the form ply floor and sides came from a old skating rink, the roof was given to me from an old timber yard.the rear kitchen was made from an old dresser and some other stuff i found on the gutter i must say it was a lot of bloody fun

"Vincent" the Viscount, mostly people go for the feminine names, decided to be different. Our home town had fishing boats with male names???

Sounds like you're having some issues with your van CV. Hang in there Just remember when you're at the bottom - it can only get better from there. Atog

Our little Franklin Hunter is named, because it represents the chance to "break free" that's what it is called. It's also because it is my favourite Queen song.

Using various period record covers, as element inspiration, a classic van that has a trashed inside, would look amazing if re born with a Queen theme interior.
