Hi everyone decided to purchase a tow tug for the chesney decided upon a ford au wagon as a same year 4x4 was out of my price range and thought a ford would be cheaper running cost and upkeep will have to post photo seperatly regards peterg

hey peterg good stuff. looks a bit of allright. bit young though you will find she will do a sterling job. just make sure she gets a good end to end service before you tow in ernest.. and change the brake fluid.. bobt why do I keep calling cars 'she'

thanks bobt i believe she will be fine already tidied up around the body but a complete trans flush and adding a cooler are on the agenda then like you have wisely suggested a total top to bottom check and service . Ultimately an xy wagon would have been nice but a little costly to find good solid example these days cheers peterg

Hi peterg I think you will find the Ford a good tow wagon, and much cheaper to maintain than a 4x4. We have just purchased a Ford BF mk11 RTV ute '08 model, totally fitted up for caravanning,--canopy and load rails,'Outback' drawers in the back, 'Smartbar' bullbar and driving lights, mobile phone set up, 2300kgs towbar and diff lock. It is a LPG only, so this is our first Ford and first gas car. Looking forward to getting on the road with the van in the next few months to test it out. Cheers boblor

Hi Boblor sounds like you have the perfect setup all people i have spoken to are all praise with the fords only thing they have all remarked most important is trans cooler if auto with this auto is unbreakable if correctly serviced and maintained so many happy trips to us both regards peterg
