Just new to this forum but thought I would post up a couple of pics of our intended tow cars.
The caravan will be painted to match the ute 'Monty' which we restored a couple of years ago. He was featured in the 'Australian Classic Cars Magazine' last year. This is 'Blue Bus' it's going to be a SLOW trip with this one. ;D

Welcome aboard ruby6689 I just love them kombi's had one once. it was a little more advanced then yours, it had wind up windows Hated the gear box particularly when I want to go backwards, have memories of being moved sideways when there was a cross wind. Like lots of things 'wish I still had it' no space nor the smarts to realize that one day I would want it back.. bobt

AAAHhhhh, here they are Yes, what fond memories the 67 brings back. My parents used to follow the fruit season up and down the east coast and us kids got to sleep in the Kombi (3 of us) I remember waking up in Sth Aust at the orchard and having some cornies (cornflakes) and then getting dressed and helping out with cutting apricots to be kiln dried. I used to love that Kombi. Well try getting one now, near impossible unless you have a wad of spare cash. Never mind, dreams and memories are free. ;D ;D ;D

It's really nice to see that others like or have kombis as well.
For me it was all about revisiting my youth and when my husband asked me what I wanted for my 50th, I said my kombi back. That started an obsession and I am lucky enough to have 3 beautiful ones and 2 splitscreens that are very very rusty. One of these was also a fruit pickers', it's a '62 and has definitely seen better days.
The teardrop will look fab behind that lowlight ute

Howdy traveler, Yep, Ya just gotta love those Kombies, Your comments brings back memories of a Kombie I saw a long long time ago, It was at a drag race meeting at the Ravenswood Race-way here in the West ( now closed ) This Kombie had a V8 installed well back in the rear, with a direct coupling to the diff. A real crowd pleaser as it did a wheel stand from start to finish. ;D ;D ;D kiwijim

It must be like new. Our '76 kombi camper belonged to a 90 YO and only had 52,000 on the clock, she's a gem. She (Molly) is not going to be too happy now that Mildred has come along to share 'happy holidays'.
Go on hitch the old girl up and just go, doesn't matter where, it's all about the journey.
