This is what we were looking at from the Patrol, We did some water crossings and sometimes stopped for a swim, Here a bit wider and more corrugated, We saw some water falls, Crossed the river and we were nearly there, ;D ;D ;D Yes kiwijim, the mighty Patrol made it there and back, still got the dust in car. Hello Dave,
that would be it, Cape York Peninsular, going along the Telegraph Track, ferry crossing is the Jardine River, cost $85 no other way to cross,
we traveled along the Telegraph Track some places and the bypass when needed as we were by our selfs, with 4 young kids didn't want to get stuck somewhere. That was 2004 great trip.

I did it in a Subaru Brumby ute with all our camping gear and a Yamaha Big bear 4x4 bike in a 6x4 trailer in 1985. We pulled out big Land Cruisers out of sticky situations that trip !! Dave A very very easy one this time, one with plenty of clues Sorry about the photo quality,i had a crappy digital camera at the time.

Spot on Dougy ;D ;D Its one of two B52s that are in civilian hands in the world. The museum at Darwin has the most collectible aircraft in the country including a Cobra helo,Lear Jet pretty near every thing you could wish to see and have a look over. I remember seeing B52s landing at Darwin many moons ago, simply stunning to watch land and take off.The wing span is so long they have wheels at the end of the wings Over to you Dougy Dave

Hello olfarts,
funny that you put that photo of the air museum in Darwin, when I put on the last pictures of the Cape I was debating as to do I put the Cape or do I put on a B52 bomber. We visited the museum in 2004, well worth a visit if your in Darwin.

That B52 had a lot of history,we took the tour of it and its history.
The chap that was the "guide" prattled on for at least an hour on the 7.62 machine gun our the rear !!
Its very cramped inside.

Mt Stromlo Observatory near Canberra. Burnt in the bushfires which attacked Canberra a few years ago.

Looks pretty new,so it wouldn't be a well known landmark or on the tourist trail.

It's not all that new but is is a little off the tourist trail. It is the ampetheatre at the Botanic Gardens near Cooroy with Lake Macdonald in the background. Well worth a visit when around the Sunshine Coast, has good picnic facilities.
Over to someone else!
Cheers, Bob.
