So have you actually been there?

Many times, mostly in the 70s when you wernt 'supposed to be there.(It was still classed as a "hot area" back then) Fishing up there is stunning, all "class A" fish Red Emperor mostly, but you have to get them on deck pretty fast before the Noah's take chomps out of them as you are reeling them in. The photos is of one of the bunkers the Atomic blasts were observed from, not Nuke blasts as some misinformed people call them. May i strongly suggest the Full Monty fishing charters up there, check out the pontoons bell,it has someones name on it Dave

I will definitely check it out one day and I'll see if I know anyone's name on the bell Its such a beautiful part of the country over there, i think its because its so remote. I want to go to Kondalilla Falls next month. Up here in Queensland, where all the tourist come

Well when you get over to WA you will see what REAL beach's are like and coast line that OTHER states would love to claim as there own. Your welcome to the terrorists,,,,,,,,,,,,sorry tourists And coral reefs that are stunning and not spoilt by terrorists ,,,,,,sorry tourists and pollution. As Rolf Harris once sang:- I wanna go back to WA Back to WA That's the only place for me I've been to Honolulu and I've seen Hong Kong Took the tourist bus to Europe And I've seen the Tagalong They're quite delightful places But they're hardly worth the song I wanna go back...... To WA! Dave

Struth, Dave...talk about a RED HERRING!! About a week ago I posted some stuff I found on the internet, which included this sentence... On October 3, 1952, a 25-kiloton bomb was detonated inside HMS Plym - a frigate anchored in 12m of water just off Trimouille Island.and this sentence... In 1956, a 15-kiloton bomb was detonated on Trimouille Island,..And then I asked... Is there a clue in any of the above??And you replied... Yep,a few clues there small clue, but not the name of the island or the building.Say wha?? Congratulations on finally getting the answer out of him, Donna! ;D ;D I reckon he was holding out only because that ratty old sweaty hat of his would be too SALTY to eat! Ok, Donna, give us yer best shot with yer "Where's this?" photo! ;D ;D cheers, Al.

Make sure its a good red with that hat ;D Al, I don't think that I have anything that anyone would even begin to guess, they would be random places, and I wouldn't be able to down load it till tonight either, don't tell the boss, but I'm actually at work And technically you got the answer a week ago, so you put one up and I'll work on finding a pic for when I guess where yours is ;D

Hey Dave, no worries! ;D Ya had me goin' there for awhile. It's funny...a week ago I never even knew the Montebellos Islands existed, and now I'll remember them as the place where Dave had me dangling on a line for a few days! Ok, I'll do a quickie while we're waiting for Donna to sort out her photographs. This one is not so much a "Where's this?" but a "What's this?"... Where would you find this sort of thing, and who is responsible for it? cheers, Al.

I'll give ya half a point for the "old Orse watering trough" Dave, but to get the other half point you have to say a bit more about how this trough (or rather these troughs) came to be...
York? Dunno if one is there, so can't say if that's right or not. My picture was taken in Vic.
cheers, Al.

ooh ooh, I think I know this one without Google It's a Bells Watering Trough? Donated by Mr. & Mrs Bell (can't remember their first names) so that horses could be watered after being ridden into town. Mrs. Bell thought that it was very cruel that the riders could go to the pub and refresh but the horses went without. There are a heap of them in Victoria Now after blowing off my big mouth, I hope its right Cheers Donna

I think yer close enough! ;D ;D Just change their surname a tad... I thought it was a fascinating story when I read it on a plaque alongside one of these troughs in (I forget where) south-west NSW. [ Update: with a bit of detective work on the internet, my memory was restored, and the plaque was beside the trough on the corner of Moppett St and Lachlan St (the Cobb Highway) in Hay, NSW. My photos posted above are of another trough south of Mildura in Vic.] I discovered today there's even a website dedicated to them... Bills Horse TroughsJust proves you were a worthy winner of the mysterious Trimouille island quiz, Donna! ;D ;D cheers, Al.

Well done Al, lol It is very picturesque and the road takes you to some where else that is even more spectacular as far as views go. There is a chance that some of you have been on this road but probably not in winter because it too bloody cold. Cheers Donna
