Well done guys,but i think Al put all the pieces together first. The pub was moved 2 or 3 blocks to wards the main drag after the movie was shot there,cashing on the tourist dollar most likely. It looks nothing like the pub in the movie,either in side or out.It has the sign from "Walkabout Tours" a few photos and thats it. BUT,it opens at 07.30 for those who like an early ale,of which i did as seen in the photo. Here is a photo of a photo of the pub in its original location prior to the move. Over to you young Al. Pechy? Pechy??!! What the heck is a "pechy"  I dunno anything about any Pechy... At least I didn't until you said that was the location of the sign. So I googled it as well... And there it is! Millard Rd, Pechy, Qld. Well I'll be buggered.  I only knew the road was 7kms south of Crows Nest (...and nobody picked up on my hint of "400kms north as the crow flies"? )...  I'm going back up to Crows Nest in July for a Vintage van gathering. I'll have to make a detour off the highway and see what the heck Pechy has to offer! I'll also have to check whether that sneaky bloke philouise has pinched the sign yet. In the meantime, young Doug, you can have a turn and see if you can stump that younger fella Shane!! cheers, Al. |

Hello Al, this younger bloke ;D ;D is feeling a bit short now, yep this latest picture ???has got me stumped , any way thanks for the compliment. Over the last 11 years we, that is wife and 4 kids have been lucky to travel over this great country that we have here and seen some great places, bit harder now as the oldest is now17. Kids age 17, 15 13 and 11 makes it a bit harder to travel, wife and I are looking forward to getting a bit older and doing more travel. Keep the pictures coming. Shane  |

Looks like my recent winning streak is coming to an abrupt end...  "red" huh?? Hmmm... lessee...Doug lives in Beachmere, Qld. Isn't there a place called Red Cliffs somewhere near Brisbane?? Wait...checking Google as I type...Nup, not Red Cliffs... is Red Hill. Drats! Not even near the water. Ok, moving on... Redhead near Newcastle in NSW... So is Redland Bay.... lived there for 10 years when it was the salad bowl of Brisbane..... now jist another overgrown suburb.

Yay Seeshell you got it! Lovely little spot right next to the beach and inlet just north of Woolgoolga. Nice van park by the looks though I haven't stayed there in the park. ;D ;D Your Up  |
