Well, Ate has started the ball rolling asking to get members a little more active in the forum, so here is a topic plenty should be able to take part in. My number one interest is freshwater fishing, myself and a few friends have kayaks or canoe's and fish dams and creeks and rivers, we are all catch & release, after a quick photo. I also enjoy camping - I cannot say caravanning yet as never own one till now, but I have a stretcher tent and tarp and we go to a few rivers etc out west fishing and do over night camps, surviving using just the basic's. I use to be involved in fish restocking but have passed that on to others, and I also paint lures with an airbrush, I buy blanks lures from China and dream up different colour systems for them. Both my wife and I love camping in general and will go away just for a weekend to a small town just to be somewhere different. We use to own a Cub camper trailer which I sold just after buying our caravan ( I'm still having trouble remembering it is sold as I keep calling the van "the camper trailer) we owned it for 14 years and was thought to be either a 79 or 80 year model. I modified it 3 times and either replaced, repaired or upgraded 95% of the original camper.
Another interest I have is swimming, helps to keep me active and fit, I swim 3 times a week at a local pool, I also enjoy making nice coffee, no the stuff you buy in pod's but proper beans that are then ground to different levels for the coffee to be made, our machine is 23 years old and was given to us for a wedding gift, we have had a couple of newer machines but they either didn't last or didn't produce the pressure needed, so old faithful is still being used again.
Cheers

Nice one Lockyer. My other interest is woodworking. After something of a hiatus for 10 years, I am now in a position with family, finances, and workshop that I can get into it again. I haven't started renovating my van yet, but once my workshop is set up (which is a current WIP), I should be able to make everything I need. I was fortunate enough to have my generous father pass on some of my grandfather's old machinery and hand tools, along with all that I have acquired over the years. Here is a link to my study build, where I made all the cabinets from rough sawn Sydney blue gum and painted mdf carcasses. www.woodworkforums.com/showthread.php?t=182611I also think my patience has improved as I have aged, so I am not hell bent on just finishing ... I want to finish well and according to plan. So, if you are in my area, and you need some timber for your van renovation machined, let me know and I would be glad to help. Cheers, Glenn

I have been a VIP driver for the IF Awards, so very lucky to have had a chat or two with folks like up & commingStarlets to icons like Jackie Weaver & Jack Thompson. Shame they stopped but the GFC & sponsors dried up plus the AACTA took over, but that is a more an insider scene.
