Below is two photo's of some switches in our millard van, now before removing the 12v battery we try all the switch's to see which one did what, could someone please shed some light on which switch does what please.
.. The first pic are the switches beside the door, on the double switch the top one switched on the out side light when we connected to 240V the bottom one does nothing on either 12 or 240, same with the black switch lower down doesn't do anything on either.
The second pic is a switch beside the fridge, it is black and it did nothing - above it is a small light ?? and it did nothing as well - tried on both 240 and 12 V

Lawrence - Usually the Black Switches are 12v Lights and the Bone ones are for 240v, The 12v switches Usually operate from the tugs 12v Battery using Auxiliary supply from pin 2 of the 7 pin plug, The 240 switches near the door usually supply the External and an Internal Light. Pop the plates and have a look at the type and colours of the wires then check the lights for corresponding wires.
If the Van had a battery installed then most probably the previous owner altered the original 12v circuitry.
Just remember alterations to the 240 lights should be completed by a Licensed Sparkie, while checking the back of the switch plates have the 240v Disconnected from the Caravan.

PS if you indicate where you live a Forum member in your area may be able to pop around and help sort out the 12v wiring.

Thanks Rattles
I was guessing it may have been something along those lines, but wasn't 100% sure. I have a good friend who is a sparkie and he is chomping at the bit to come over and check the van out, we had planned to do it this weekend but the temps are going to be in the high 30deg range so will have to wait till it cools. The 12v side is my speciality and I have plans for setting up a battery and charger/s inside the van when the time comes, when I bought it, there was a battery(car) in a timber box on the front with wiring from mid last century I'm sure but I tested all the lights and only one worked on the 12v side and it was a newest light installed above the stove and had wires going back to a cigarette socket and it looked like someone had wired the socket and light in, so there may be an issue with the rest of the 12v lights so something to look for too, thanks again Cheers Lawrence

I just picked up on something >>>>>
"The 12v switches Usually operate from the tugs 12v Battery using Auxiliary supply from pin 2 of the 7 pin plug,"
I only tested the lights using the 12v battery that was on the "A' frame and didn't try them while hooked to the ute, so I wonder if the 12v lights have been left wired into the connection plug....interesting...
