G'day Les, The American "Starcraft" company first brought some camper trailers to Australia in 1972, for the Sydney Caravan Show that year. I'm not 100% sure, but for the next 12 months or so after that, this Starcraft brand was possibly available on an imported basis. In May 1973, Millard made an announcement that they had taken on the Australian production of America's top-selling Starcraft range of caravans, campers, and motor homes. I have newspaper archive information showing advertisements for the Millard Starcraft range, from mid-1973 up to 1978. I honestly have no idea what the T596 number means. Millard used an "M" in their chassis numbers for all the Aussie Millards. Maybe the "T" series was used to signify the Starcraft models? When you say you bought a "pop top camper", is it one of those campers where the roof is raised and the canvas ends slide out? At this stage the best guess I can give you is that your camper is from somewhere between 1973 and 1978. I've changed the heading of this thread to reflect what you have. cheers, Al.

Thanks for your quick reply and info. It is a wind up top, the winch is on the draw bar, and the ends do not slide out It is similar to the Jayco Penguin. I will post some pics when the weather breaks thanks les

Hi, we have a 1975 Starcraft T168. Ends slide out etc. it's in fantastic condition and someone at some stage replaced the canvas and fitted out the interior like new. We love it Currently looking at putting some bag flies on each end to make it perfect for a short stay without putting up the full annex Cheers, Evan
