Howdy Gang, Just a very quick Note while this Internet Con holds together, We have been camping in the South-West town of Augusta for the last two weeks, We had planned to stay here for a full month but, Another big Bush-fire has put pay to that idea. Tomorrow we head North-East for a bit of one night camping and hopefully well away from this Damn Smoke. This morning I awoke, choking on smoke, went outside and took these pictures at around 8.30am.......... i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee197/kiwijim/Thomson/South%20West%20Western%20Australia%20Feb%2001%202012/crusininthecoaster064.jpgi235.photobucket.com/albums/ee197/kiwijim/Thomson/South%20West%20Western%20Australia%20Feb%2001%202012/crusininthecoaster063.jpgi235.photobucket.com/albums/ee197/kiwijim/Thomson/South%20West%20Western%20Australia%20Feb%2001%202012/crusininthecoaster065.jpgWe have been taking a heap of pretty Pic's on our travels, but as this Computer, or rather, Photobucket refuses to allow me to publish direct to this Forum at present, I have had to enter a direct link to the pictures, ? ? ? contact is so bad down here in this part of the world, I may have to wait a while to send some better ones. Catch Ya all later. kiwijim

G'day kiwijim, Great to hear from you again, and great to hear that you are having a coughing good time! I can understand why you would want to pack up and move to clearer skies. That sun looks pretty dim trying to shine through all that haze. How's the Coaster been going so far? Any dashboard photos?? cheers, Al.

Hey Ho All, I've just found why that darn Photobucket wouldn't allow me to copy and paste any photos to this Forum, All the pic's I've taken were stored in a sub-folder under another heading, this was-not recognized by Photobucket for what-ever reason, now in the process of moving all pic's to an original folder, and it's working again. So, a couple of Pic's just to make sure they appear O.K........ I had to buy a new trailer for the Coaster, couldn't carry all the "Might be handy" junk that someone said we would want. ............ Our first day on the road, heading South for the first over-night at a very pretty and quiet camp site called Sue's Bridge ..... Now that things are sorted out with the pic's, more will follow shortly. Cheers, Happy kiwijim ;D

Well, after spending a peaceful night camped in the Sue's Bridge camping ground, under tall trees with plenty of shade, We arrived safely in Augusta without any drama's. After arriving we raced around and found a Relation of the "Dear Ones who very kindly lent us her car......... The next day we headed up the coast to the small town of Prevelly which was devastated by the recent Bush fires......... Tomorrow we plan to go further up the Coast to have a look at Busselton's famous long Jetty. Cheers kiwijim

Leaving Augusta bright and early, we headed up the coast following the beaches all the way to Busselton, Here are a few of the beaches on the way....... Tomorrow I will post some pics taken around Busselton. The Coaster is going like a dream, although top speed is only around 90kph with the trailer behind. Fuel economy isn't too bad, I used a tank of Auto gas on the trip down around 70lt per 350km but I only payed 40 cpl for it when it was cheaper and with a Wollies 8c p/l discount, so that only works out at $28.00 to travel 350 km. The reversing camera I fitted has proved invaluable, I see all the traffic behind and also the few that overtake on the double white lines. ............. Cheers Crusinkiwijim ;D ;D

Hey there kiwijim, Looks like you and the Boss are having a really great time. I reckon that rear camera is pretty impressive. How about putting a second one in the front, showing what's coming ahead. Then hook it up to the internet, and we can all watch and pretend we are travelling WITH you! ;D ;D How cool would THAT be?!! We could all tour WA and it wouldn't cost us a cent! Bargain!!! cheers, Al.

Howdy Peterg, What do I think of the Genny...... in a nut shell,... it's a "Ripper" I had it running on the first night camping down in Sue's Bridge Camping Ground. When we arrived there it was flamin hot so I fire it up on idle speed to run the air-con, then when the "Boss" wanted to use the Micro wave, I switched the Genny to fast speed. The Genny gave a bit of a rev for a couple of seconds, then continued running at a slightly fast speed than idle, very impressive. The noise level wasn't a drama as the Genny is sitting in a box attached to the rear of the Bus, even with the doors on the box open and a small side door open for the exhaust fumes to escape, the noise level was not much more than any other Genny around. Any-one thinking of buying the same type of Genny should dive in now and grab one off eBay while they are available, they're a heck of a lot cheaper than any equivalent make around of the same KW 's, a really great buy. Howdy Al, "Heck" I couldn't have another camera on the front of the bus, How would I get anyone else to hit the road for a C.C.ers run, if every-one sat at home and watched the scenery glide by while they all sat in their Computer chairs. Does "Cheap-skate" mean anything, to the worlds " best Bargain Hunter" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Crusinkiwijim

Howdy Doug,...Crusindoug, ;D Yep those beaches sure reminded us of some we saw in Qld a couple of years back now. Pity you can't organize a Mob of C.Cers and V.Vers to do a run across the "Sand Patch" Don't worry, once you get through Vic, it's just about all a down hill run. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Well we spent a full day in Busselton, having a good look around, even ventured into the inland Canals, where the rich and Famous can afford to live......... Then we went to gander at the mighty long Busselton Jetty, there is a small train that runs out to the end of the jetty, takes a couple of hours to return as it only travels at a snails pace......... To Flamin hot here, we're heading back to the Coaster for a bit of cool refreshment. Keep tuned for more pic's. Crusinkiwijim ;D ;D

Howdy Bobt, This might sound stupid, and you might say, "I thought everyone knew what it meant" but, the Boss" wants to know what SYMBO means ? As far as Free Camping goes, I think it's almost a thing of the past, here in the West. If you do find a spot, it's either Private land, or it's not worth grabbing as a National Park. Just about any place that is worth spending an over-night stop in has been declared as Govt property, there fore there is that minimum charge of at least $7.00 per head per night. Mind you, for that you do get to look at a drop toilet and the twisted remains of what was once a BBQ plate. You can be lucky and find a camp site where there isn't a Ranger hiding behind the first tree inside the park, and there is an Honor system at the entrance, this leaves it up to you to do the right thing and place the money in an envelope and shove it in the box at the gate. The Dam site we just left was a bit like coming over a hill and there is the Booze Bus...... no where to turn around, stop at the office, pay the coin, then be told exactly where you can and can-not park, "Oh" and it's cash only, said the well fed Bloke behind the desk, said he was digging a hole the other day and dug up the phone cable, no efpos and also no way of calling for help in case of Bush fire. We left the Dam the next morning, with a slightly clearer sky, still not real good for pictures but took these as we crossed the dam top...... We just about got jumped on by a couple of large Roos as we swung onto the dam........ Finally got down through the bush and back to the high-way. Our final stop was in Pinjarra, a small town with a mighty big Bakery. It's a great place for fresh pies and bread, or even a Coffee Break..... One final photo, On the last night after we left Augusta, I went to have a shower in the Bus, this is what welcomed me when I opened the door.... "Flamin Woman" can't say NO to anything

G'day kiwijim, SWMBO is the acronym for "She Who Must Be Obeyed". I think in Jean's case it's SWMBP which is "She Who Must Buy Plants". ;D ;D And you tell Jean I said they are a lovely little collection of plants, and that she is perfectly entitled to store them in the shower cubicle, and that if you don't like that idea then you should just go find your own shower cubicle!! (Right, Jean? ) cheers, Al.

"AW JEEZ" AL,Ya just had to go and tell her that, didn't Ya, As though Jean didn't have a big enough head before now, "MAN" she sure thinks the sun shines out of Ya now, Can't say I am happy about having to build a second shower in the Coaster though, " BOY" you'll keep. ;D ;D ;D Here's SWMBP laughing her head off, while watching T.V. in the Plantatorium........... Now heres a warning AL, we might be heading your way in the middle of the year, SO,,,,,,, Ya better have a fridge full. ;D ;D kiwijim

Pure jealousy....That's what it is. I flat out refuse to acknowledge that this thread even exists. Stuck in a job with no real way out at the moment..... No I won't look at all the pretty pictures the lovely scenery... the plants I refuse to compliment this couple on having the time, foresight and energy to travel and enjoy this great land or ours.... no....no.... never. They can just bite their collective ..... Glad to see you out and about Jim Not that I in any way care.... or would do the same... or.... You get the idea. ;D ;D ;D ;D Keep the photos coming Jean of the Coaster All the best Atog

Howdy Atog, Jean is so pleased you like the floral arrangement in the shower. We're both glad that our travels don't bother you at all, SHMBO said, put it this way, At no expense to your-selves, you can sit back and with-out turning a wheel in the Olympic, you can tour all over the country side, just by looking at the screen. The only problem is that you say....you're not interested after Jeans hard work, just imagine, sitting there hour after hour, the ever changing scenery sliding by, Then the effort of having to stop beside some pretty little lake or stream, to have a coffee break and watch the wild life come in for a drink at Sunset, as the golden sun slowly sets in the West. Then you awake in the crisp early Morning, too clear skies, light the camp fire, chuck on the billy, then the old cast iron fry-pan and make some nice hot fresh pan cakes, so glad we remembered the Maple syrup. Sorry to go on Atog, just remembered, You weren't interested in all this. ;D ;D ;D

Howdy Jean, We're back home again now after a rather enjoyable, but smokey trip. We're glad some folks like the pic's, there will be plenty more in a few months time when we again attempt to cross the " Sand Patch "..... for the 5Th time. Who knows, you and Alex may-be mobile by then, we could sure do with some company for a short hope to Sth Aust and back. ;D ;D ;D I'm not trying to make ATOG stirred-up or anything but, Wouldn't it be great, camping near the Great Aust Bight, fresh cool air, the Camp Fire going, fresh hot pan cakes on the griddle, sitting around with a few wines and just watch the stars come out as the Milky way shows us....... where that last bottle got too. Sounds so good, almost wish we were off now. ;D ;D ;D Cheers kiwijim ;D
