Hi All, Anyone know of somewhere where I can take my Newlands chassis for repairs and get brake system and everything else checked and repaired before I paint the chassis and put walls and roof but together. Thanks

Would taking it across to Logan be too far? I have a friend there that runs a business doing all sorts of stuff including this type of thing - he's very good - they have a thread on a build of a Millard they did here - it was sensational. I can ask him how busy he is and get you his number if you're interested.
Cheers.

J Thomas and Son is a caravan repair company in Lobb St, Churchill, which is on the southside of Ipswich. They will be able to carry out all the work you require.

That would be sensational your are a legend. Cheers Just checking with him to see if he is working at the moment and happy to have a look at it. For some light reading, this is the van they rebuild - ditzygypsy.proboards.com/thread/4510/1971-millard-m18801-total-refit - you can see his work is first class - they've since dragged this van all over the country with zero issues - I was having a beer with them just before the lockdown when they were down at the Murray river in NSW. Great people.

Thanks Gav, Unfortunately Kipper2020 as we are not licensed mechanics we do not do brakes etc on other peoples vehicles/caravans. Maybe try J Thomas and Son as WarrenK suggests.

Hi All, Thanks for your help . I have contacted J Thomas and yes they do the required works so that's great. Commencing body removal this weekend so this will be procedure. 1: Brace walls with timber to prevent collapse 2: Remove top section -roof 3: Remove walls 4: Remove front and back sections; Does this sound right? As a portion of the timber frame is rotten should I replace with alloy or stay with timber?. Also is there insulation required or suggested? Finally my wife has asked if the kitchen could be relocated to the front from the LHS for me a long way off but any issues with that ?. I will post some photos of the journey Thanks everyone for your help so far its just the beginning
