That'll make light work of towing the van. 👍

She did a run down the coast with the van and went very well fuel wise and power wise. It did better than I thought it would.

It did about 180km's towing and about 210km's just doing the tourist thing and it took just over 40litres of diesel were as the territory was getting about 350km's for 60litres towing. But the best improvement is the suspension makes it much steadier than the territory and as long as you don't miss a gear just climbs hills with ease the territory did struggle a but on steep hills.the Territory as just a car uses a bit less than the ranger but towing the ranger makes up for it and since we plan on more times away even if it is just a 150 to 250km's away it will make up for it plus the wife keeps hinting at a Tassie trip as soon as possible so we will see .

For comparison, my 2 year old work Hilux (First of the latest model) gets around 14's towing the Franklin and it seems similar towing the Viscount. My 101 does about 23's towing the Franklin but considering it does 21 with nothing behind it, that's not bad... 😁
I like using the Hilus though, I don't pay for the fuel so I have a low care factor on keeping it economical. The 101 burns a hole in wallet very quickly - did a 3,000KM trip towing the Franklin once, that knocked the wind out of my bank account... 😆

Plan well ahead for Tassie, the van deck is usually booked out months ahead, especially if you are travelling in school holidays.

she will have everything booked at least 10 month in advance but it will be at least 2 years away yet.

Waiting to find out if the ranger lives . The wife was hit up the rear on Tuesday as I am in blacksmith's beach and she was due to come up Wednesday after tafe I didn't see car but am told tow bar is bent upwards being a ford heavy duty tow bar I can only assume the chassis is bent waiting on reply from assessor . No one was injured in the accident so that was a big plus we like the ranger and I have done a ton of work to it but if it is written off I can do another one much easier than repairing a human body.

Good to hear no-one was hurt, as you say car repairs are generally easier than body (human) repairs. I would think if chassis is bent they will likely write it off.
