Another long trip from Elmore to Burwood yesterday.
Central locking on Disco failed meaning the vehicle could not be locked.
Didn't fancy explaining to insurance company how vehicle was "stolen" when vehicle was "not secured".
Took the Disco down to "Ritters" in Burwood.
Had new springs installed in locks, now works as it should.
Their (Ritter automotive) attention to detail is second to none.
They also replaced the windscreen wiper blades and globes for the automatic transmission selector. (I had forgotten to mention these items) they were rectified as a matter of course.
In this modern age of "short cuts" and poor service this company stands out.
My Disco (towcar) is now back to it's best.
Mick.

Mick.[/quote] Hi Mick. Just another one for your memory bank as good R/Rover places are hard to come by.I know it's a loooong way from Elmore, but, Rangie Automotive in Lilydale. (03) 9739 6989. They are a family owned & run business that have a workshop and are dedicated R/R repairers and also wreck all model R.Rovers & carry new & second hand parts for Disco's etc. The business is owned and operated Joe, therese & their sons. "NOTE" The only affiliation I have with them is, I used to work for a mate who does all their towing requirements of clients vehicles. www.rangie4x4automotive.com.au

Thanks for the input Wanderer.
Though I shall continue to go to Ritters.
This was the 2nd time I have made the big trip. (first time was to have a duel battery system installed).
I am old fashioned in that I expect things to be "right the first time". Living approx 250 klms away, I can't afford to have to go back again and again.

hi getaway
my motto "stick to one you know" unless of coarse they don't deliver...
Yep Ritters have a good reputation.
I go all of 13 k out of my way to get the family fleet serviced. There are plenty of places near by that will do it for me. Just like your mob, my fella does it right for me each time..
how is the shoulder? and the boss?

Bobt, shoulder is giving me some major grief at the moment.
I am attending 2 hydrotherapy sessions in Bendigo each week.
Pain level has "increased" so my orthopedic surgeon has changed my medication (pain relief) from tablets to "morphine patches".
Re my wife. She is back home from Peter Mac.Callum hospital in Melbourne. (last chemotherapy cycle finished). Her latest "pet scan" has revealled all cancer is gone! She is to have a course of "radiation therapy" at Bendigo oncology ward commencing on 7th December. (this is just a precaution to "mop up" any stray microscopic cancer cells that may remain)
Hopefully by the new year, all treatment will be finished and she will have a "clean bill of health"
Needless to say, my wife is looking forward to her hair growing back and resuming our caravanning.

Hi Mick
Real glad to hear the wife has a ckean bill of health. Tell her it is trendy to have a bald head... everyone is doing it.. BUT you have to polish it. That would certainly make life in your house hold a lot better...
Sorry to hear the shoulder is still giving you grief... morphine patches............. you would have to be on a high most of the time. ;D
are they working?
take it easy............

Bobt, funnily enough I thought that (being high) when it was suggested by my orthopedic surgeon.
The reality is, you don't feel high as a matter of fact the only thing you feel is "pain relief".
Have to be more careful now, having my pain threshold greatly reduced you tend to forget.
Last night I went to turn on a light switch and screamed the house down. (pain relief is good until you do something you shouldn't be doing) like reaching up to turn on a light then you know all about it.
However, my twice weekly hydrotherapy sessions should be less painful now.
Just a matter of being "patient" and keep working on my recovery.
Mick.

Hi Mick Your becoming an old hand at this hydrotherapy stuff.. The staff at bendigo must consider you family by now... Ya just gotta remember to stop doing the stuff that will hurt it and prevent it from getting better. You don't want a repeat after this one... Keep ya hands by ya sides at all time now.... ;D
