Picked up a new hose today for $14.95 so it wasn't worth messing around with the old one. Should get it fitted up tomorrow

Hi all. New brake hose fitted and lines cleaned through. Brakes all working now............... Gotta look into my 12v battery set up. Thinking 1x 100or 120ah . Where has everyone else mounted their batteries ? I'm thinking under the bottom bunk LHS near the cupboard. What do you reckon ?

I run 2 x 100Ah batteries but that's overkill. Charged from a 140 watt solar panel mounted on the roof of the van. 1 x 100 or 1 x 120Ah would be enough for most. My batteries are mounted under the seat right over the axle - next to the LHS wheel well.

I have a Huge battery that i still need to fit. I was thinking similar location as in opposite kitchen side, left side just behind axle under bunks.

Thinking in fitting the battery under the wardrobe in front of the mudguard. At the present time the battery is under the dinette seat next to the door.

The bride has done a fantastic job of the curtains. All finished ! Now she is ready to sort out the cushions /mattresses in a dark blue colour.

Looks great! And, you're photo of the main bed answers a question I've just asked in my own thread. What is the size of the bed when it is folded out like that?

I did see the ladder, was thinking about mine but at the moment the boy sleeps on the bottom bunk so no need for ladder yet. The fact that he fell out of bed from the bottom one meant he wasnt keep on the top bunk as yet.

A few members here have used Solarguard, its a house paint so how it lasts on aluminium is probably an unknow factor at this stage. When you paint an aluminium caravan its for looks not waterproofing. Preparation is the key, we have just used an automotive acrylic, hopefully it lasts. Hi, I used wattle Solargard on my 69 Viscount and used SLS primer from Bunnings. After painting it spent a year outside on a mates farm with no attention at all. When I finally got back to it and washed it the only problem I had was some water staing over the rear of the roof where the water drained off. Still clean and bright otherwise. Cheers

I am painting now with Solagard over a quick dry White Knight undercoat. I was going to use another brand but @ $25 for the 4 lt can it was a deal.

Thinking 1x 100or 120ah . Where has everyone else mounted their batteries ? I'm thinking under the bottom bunk LHS near the cupboard. What do you reckon ? I put in a 120ah under the bottom bunk (RHS) with a projector 15a charger, the 240v lead runs past the fridge to the power outlet in the sink cupboard. I made sure I sat the battery over the chassis rail, so that it didn't flex the floor too much. Be very careful putting it in, 30-40kg reaching around the fridge is a tricky manoeuvre . Originally I thought I would have liked to place it closer to the axle, to take some weight off the ball, but its turned out OK. Under the bunk also helped in keeping cable runs short, about 1m to the fridge and only about 2m out to the drawbar for the solar connection (anderson plug).

I am going to try to put it under the wardrobe in front of the mudguard which it is next to the door. The layout of my Arrow is different with the dinette at the front and beds/bunks at the back.

Cant believe there are two Franklins, virtually same era, at the same stage of renovation. Looking great also, as with gitano's progress.

3 sides done and 1 to go !!! Pretty happy with it. Probably should've waited for the weather to cool off abit as it did come out slightly gritty. I reckon it was due to the temp, but you can only notice it when you are up very close.... I was told 'I'm being too fussy!!!!' Lol
