I found soon after getting the caravan home that there was substantial water damage in the front and rear quarters. since these photos I have removed most of the delaminated ply and rotten framing. to do this I have removed the aluminium sheeting from the drivers side.

The Rear Drivers Side Corner was severely rotted I found the possible source of the leak After cutting away the dead wood it was time to fit some new marine ply supported by merranti DAR 19x19mm, 19,42mm and 19,140mm. first a test fit then after much gluing, stapling, sanding and swearing. it was in.

always remember to label all parts otherwise you'll end up doing what I did putting in the wrong piece.

That's looking really good. It's amazing the way we all think we'll just fix the damage in a couple of days .......... Then end up posting photos of 'vans with the cladding removed and lots of frame replacement.
Did you mamage to source matching ply ?

Do not use cheap arse plastic handled knives to cut through 3.6mm merranti ply even if it over 20 years old and delaminated! need some urgent repairs! about 7 or 8 stitches but atleast bunnies house replaced it with a Ozito 300W Multi Function Tool and some other goodies. Thanks Bunnies I also note that the knife set that inflicted the damage is no longer available at my local bunnies anyway.

Nice job , 91 Regal, Cannot tell from the pictures, many Caravans use the aluminium skin as the earth return if this has been done on the Regal while the skin is off run in a 12v-ve multiple to all external 12v lamps, (Stop tail clearance etc), and it is not a bad idea to extend the multiple back to the source, takes 2 wiring faults to cause a Lamp to go faulty.

I was wanting to put in a house battery and a solar charging system but the cost at the moment is too prohibitive. Mick

Mick 12volt is easy, run the cables underneath and drill holes through the floor in the cupboards. This way it's all hidden. seeya, Shane L.

I think your right Shane, got no other options and I dont want to stuff around with walls etc. I wonder why they only put 3 power points, all in the kitchen, and no where else!
