G'day All, Due to a recent medical diagnosis, I have decided to step down from the Moderator role and focus on getting my health sorted out. It means I will most likely not be seen on the forum for quite some time.
I wish to thank all of you who have made this forum an interesting place to come to, especially over the last six and a half years that I've been a member/Moderator. There have been lots of interesting stories posted over the years about the projects people have been involved with, and I hope those stories will continue for the benefit of all the new people who discover the joys of owning a Classic caravan.
Many thanks for the great time we've spent together. My best wishes to you all.
regards, Al.

G'day AL.
Here I was thinking that you took off on an expedition in your van ---
I hope that you will still be putting in the occasional bit of advice from time to time?
So take a well earned rest and I hope to see you on the road soon.
Ted

Best wishes to you Al. This forum is a breath of fresh air, I find this site refreshing as it reminds me of holidays.. The tone is very friendly and I think a lot of that is a credit to you. You are always encouraging and find something positive to say about the many and varied projects people post about.
Your own threads have set a very high standard. These amazingly detailed accounts of the restoration of your caravans complete with close up photos, red arrows and measurements show how you think of others with the aim make it easier for those coming after you on their own projects.
In your role as moderator and all around nice guy I have been constantly amazed by the time and effort you put into answering others questions. Whether it be searching up older posts in order to give newbies their own specific list of similar vans or issues, or other times you would search other websites to find the product they were looking for. To top it all off sometimes you would go to your workshop or van and recreate what they were asking about so you could take photos for them, carefully labelled with red arrows of course.
Thank you for looking after this forum so diligently for so many years. I look forward to your return and am praying for a speedy recovery.

G'day All,
It's been 12 weeks since I had my operation for prostate cancer. I'm not out of the woods yet, and further testing in March will determine whether I need further treatment or not. In the meantime, I'm as good as I can be healthwise, so I thought I would rejoin the forum as a regular member and contribute from time to time. I won't go back to being a Moderator because I can't be sure I'd be able to give the time required for that job.
Thanks for all your good wishes over the last few months. Hopefully I'll get get a clean bill of health in the coming 12 months (fingers crossed).
cheers, Al.
