Hi new to the forum I picked this millard up from my dad 3 days ago it has been sitting on his property for the last 15 years and before that some other guy was living in it in a caravan park.

The plan is to totally rebuild it from the ground up I will not be going with the original theme but instead be going for something im comfortable with.

I have started the dismantling of the millard to the point where I can start cleaning up the bits and pieces and getting extra parts to start putting her back together.

I would love to try and find some identical cladding sheets but I feel this may not happen unless I find another wreck just for parts.

Wow, that's a fair bit done already. What sort of time frame did it take to strip? Can't wait to see the built - love it.

That would have taken 1 day non stop but I took my time with it and had a few breaks and did other things.

Where are you located as I have the cladding off my 78 Millard (minus roof) that is available if it is any help, located just south of Nowra NSW.

no I dont have any time frame but when I start a job I like to finish it so I can get onto the next job

Chassis is cleaned up the best I could get it.
Im going to ormonoid it the axle and brakes will be next thats going to be a bit of a challenge.
This van never came with a water tank any of you fine people got any tips or tricks for getting one setup with a water pump?
I wont be doing the 12 volt on this van just 240v any tips on what I would need to install a shower?
I am going to go as light in the materials as I can to compensate for things that I really need like hot water services etc etc have already disposed of the heavy arse fridge for a replacement bar fridge as im just a single guy with no kids it is easy to shed some weight.
I have an idea on how I want the floor plan obviously it isn't to scale but it gives you an idea.

Nice start any chance of a close up of the decal and size of it. I need a new one for my van and that looks like the one I had

Trailer/Chassis all ormonoided up starting on the axle now should be all back together and bolted to the chassis by the end of the week

I also cut the chassis number off the A frame as the plate was pushing out with the rust that was behind it & I attempted to weld the number directly onto the A frame now im not the most strongest professional welder out there but I gave it a go

got some varnish on top of the floor boards and some insulation also finished cleaning all the alloy frame of old pop rivets, screws & nails

looking good mate, making fast work! What did you cut those wall panels with? Being MDF I assume it would need to be a fine blade on a jigsaw or something? I just bought some of that stuff for my ceiling (going to paint it) because I couldnt find 3 ply anywhere.

yep its 3mm mdf and I cut with a fine blade jigsaw

The 1st wall is ready and got all the necessary holes in it
2nd wall almost paneled
New 14" wheels and tyres

That's 3 ply from Gunnersons isn't it? MDF is a big no no on caravans as its a big sponge and moisture just kills it. It's made for inside your house where it never sees moisture.
