Gary,
It looks good ;D
Remember, the caravan was made in 1977 and it is a bit hard to make a 33 year old van look new.
I used sikaflex over all the joints on my 52 year old Arrow. It has worked! We have had 300mm of rain in the past 8 weeks and the ply on the arrow has NOT swelled, cracked or lifting paint ;D
Cheers, Ron

G'day gary, Looks ok to me! Just remember the "10 metre rule" that someone on this forum mentioned last year..."If it looks good from 10 metres away, it's a good job!" Love that rule! cheers, Al.

Thanks Al and Ron I live at bray park (brissy) and I to got the 300mm of rain it only leaked about a tablespoon of water so I guess I should be happy with that. I also used sikaflex marine grade stuff ???reccomended somewere here I think by Al cost about $14 a tube used about 4 tubes. Most of my leakage was from around the stove chimney and travelled to hacth as I sealed up the hatch first and still had real bad leaks around the hatch until I did the chimney I bought a new flap for the hatch wich helped a bit also.Ron do you store youre van somewere? As I notice you have 2 vans I am looking for somwhere cheap (local) to store my van in the future. Cheers Gary

Hi All The mighty Chesney has gone due to me moving into a townhouse with no storage for a van I had to sell I even tried to lend it out to flood victims but none were interested so she,s gone now to a nice family down the road I got 4000 for her the phone was ringing from 6am on sat she was gone by 1030 I made a small profit but not a lot when you think of the work that went into her they had 2 little kids who named her /him charlie chesney I had people lining up to see her it was amasing should of put 5000 on her but not to worry she,s in a better place now boy it was sad to see her go around the corner that last time Gary no longer a chesney owner might buy a olympic if i can find some where to store it always a lurker here tho

Hi garyr, I really like what you've done to the old Chesney. I too am in the middle of renovating an old Chesney pacemaker2 not so good as yours atm but getting there. Mine is almost identical(in shape) to yours but mine is a foot or 2 longer and the lay out inside is different. Was wondering if you or anyone else on this site would be kind enough to help me with some info on my caravan. 1: what was the tare weight of yours? 2: what was the length of yours? 3: I want to get this van registered but it has no vin or any i.d or rego papers anywhere on the van and the A frame has been replaced so there is no chassis number. Would anyone have any idea of what needs to be done? I will try post pics of it soon if that will help. Thankyou
