Our caravan is at the painters and will be done in two pack green and white as standard, the interior will be done in beech with a modern look, AC, toilet and shower installed, 2 x 200W solar panels, the kitchen will have SMEG appliances and a new 140L Waeco fridge installed replacing the old 3 way unit. we have all ready replaced the draw bar and added 300mm, the caravan came standard with electric brakes and bubble windows and we have the annex that is as new if any one is interested, we are installing a carefree roll out awning. being a marine electrician I will be doing the new electrics both 240V and 12VDC, all lights are LED including the external lights, all windows have been stripped and are in the process of being painted in a silver metallic. I will post more photos once I get it back from the painters and start the assembly process.

Hi Bernie I think its the Black wire in the trailer plug that feeds the 12V lights in the van no J box just straight to the light switch I didn't pay to much attention all I did is cut it and tossed it all, hope you find the fault Ed

The Viscount is coming along slowly, its very hard to find enough time to do this sort of project when I run 2 businesses and also make time for the kids, however the outside fixtures are complete, Air command Heron AC fitted, solar panels, TV aerial, Awning and front and rear windows and wiring, lights all done. I have also built the shower and toilet. Insulation is going in at the moment and using a combination of the old and new wool for the curved bits, then interior lining goes in. Stay tuned I need to finish it by December as I have a hotrod turning up for a wiring job and I need the garage back??

See the Beech colour timber, this will be used for the interior fitout with curved overhead cupboards and white padded vinyl ceiling.

Wow your Reno is looking excellent, I'm looking forward to seeing more photos. All the renovations of caravans on this forum are giving me inspiration. I see many ideas from other people that's helping me with my Reno. I have a long way to go but I know which direction I'm going and can't wait to have something that resembles a caravan again

G'day jetboat,
So sad to hear of the damage to your van, particularly after all the hard work you've put into it.
Trying to find replacement log cabin cladding will be a challenge. You could try contacting Barnes Caravans at Lansvale NSW and see if they could give you some ideas of where to locate some. The other option is the wreckers at Redhead NSW, who may or may not be able to supply some second hand stuff. Depends where you live as to whether either of these two suggestions are worthwhile chasing up.
cheers, Al.

Bugger Ed, what can you do about those damn hailstorms, especially like those ones we copped around 17th November, massive size I've never seen before. I really hope you can fix the damage, the repaint looked fantastic.
After seeing yours done, I want to tear into our Viscount and give her a nice shiny paint job more than ever now. I just know to be done properly, it's going to have to be stripped back on the outside, windows/doors removed etc, every trace of old sealant removed, phew! But, these older vans come up better than new with some time and effort, very rewarding.

Hi Ed, any luck finding the cladding? apparently that cladding is no longer made. You have to get a fabricator to make it up for you from scratch. I am to doing one up but are in the middle of deciding if I will chance the cladding to a different one so if the unfortunate happens like yours I will be able to replace the sheeting easy. its looking good what you have down so far. you can still by the front and back cladding from Camec.
