1974 Viscount Royal A48017

Hi All
Work has taken me out to Biloela for 6 months so due to high rentals I have bought myself a very cheap but in not bad condition Viscount ‘Royal’ Chassis No A48017, I think it’s a 1974 model, have been looking at all the models from the 70’s and wow they put some vans out there, anyways here a few pic’s for the record

Cripes, you sure get around with your work!

Your van is another example of where Viscount has built a Royal model on top of an Ambassador chassis number. It is a 1974 model, which is obvious by the chassis number, and also it has the rectangular Viscount sticker that was used at that time (as opposed to the triangular sticker they were using before this).

won't take much at all to register i have new tyres spare and today Boblor and i gave it a makeover, new tow hitch and tail lights, really needs a good clean and seal some leaks in the roof and i reckon she be right. The outside is covered in moss so a bit of truck wash should bring back to life, the rest is tidy time

Hi all.
Well we retrieved the Viscount Royal over the long weekend with the valuable help from Boblor, we were very lucky it rained all the way to the down and when we arrived no rain so we set about rewiring the tail lights and fitting a new tow coupling which took a few hours then home for a good clean and appraisal










Towed well for a van that’s has not been on the road for 20+ years

After a mad two weekends have finished the ‘ROYAL’ and ready for the trek to Biloela. A few pics of the new digs for the next 6 months, thanks to the darling wife for the new curtains and Bob Taylor for the all the help, so away we go.

I reckon you'll be getting enquiries from other workers to rent out the two front bunks! Could be a good little money spinner for you!
