Hi i'm just wondering if anyone has information on this van. Im told its a hyking, but the QLD govt registered it as home made, probably because they couldnt find it. Its been completely redone on the inside, but the outside is still fairly standard. I think the red stripes used to be green maybe as there is a little bit of green showing under them. It has a Luton Peak and a large glass window on the back. Attachments:

G'day positivism1, and welcome to the forum! ;D Are you asking for information about your specific van, or are you asking for information about the Hyking brand? The limited information we have about the brand is in this thread: Hy Kingcheers, Al.

Thank you.
The exact individual van would be difficult, just after a bit more info about the brand and the type of van, I find the Luton trying to track the year it was made etc. There is very little information available on the brand and the type of van it is. I find the luton peak fascinating and was wondering if it used to be some sort of fifth wheeler type setup or if it was just put there to add room.

Hi there, That van is not a Hy King,it's an Ezy Tow pop top made by Holiday Equipment in the 70s in Cranbourne in Victoria. 2 models were made, yours and a 15ft version.Early models had a small fibreglass pop top, while the later ones had a framed aluminium top. They were a well made van but sometimes had issues with leaking. Other models they made were mainly camper trailers, trailblazer, safari,a few slide ons and a small number of motor homes on Hi ace cab chassis. They were made with and without the luton section, the only difference being a sliding double top bed. Hope this is of some help to you. Cheers Hughdeani

Hi Everyone Just thought I'd share what we did to our post 1970 EzyTow caravan this weekend. Photos here: plus.google.com/photos/106343758216758126917/albums/5926653989437385217Paint wasn't too bad just worn to bare metal in most parts. The red stripe was flaking off, when we stripped it back found the original EzyTow E. IT had been painted over the top, so we sanded and grinded and brushed until it was gone mostly. Used a wonderful Paint Stripper just whack it on and the paint bubbled up and fell away in a hot chemically mess, then wirebrushed, sanded and sugar soaped. Primer: Dulux Metalshield All Surface Primer Top Coat: Dulux Weathershield Low Sheen The rear is covered in Blackboard paint so my daughter can draw on it when we've stopped and i'll put the twitter name of the van on it. @little1caravanNot looking forward to how hot its going to get! Thinking of finishing the roof in thermal paint, but havent looked to far into it yet. Any comments/suggestions welcome.

Hi hughdini, I just joined forum today after reading chat about Ezy Tow pop top. I still own the Luton Peak model, and would be interested if there are any others still on the road. Mine is in excellent condition except for canvas curtain, as it has been garaged all its life. White with lime green stripe. Extremely roomy for its size. Cheers, Pedropedro.
