Hello everyone! So much can happen in such a short space of time! I have still been renovating my Travel Home and am very very close to having her registered and going away on my first trip! I got sidetracked from making my caravan into a mobile jewellery shop and found that as I was updating my progress on Facebook that many of my friends were interested, a few have now bought their own caravans and started their own renovations! I started to see that there was a need for a group to be started here in Australia, to cater for single women, tired mummies, widows, retirees and fun-loving girls to go away together and have fun whilst feeling safe. My idea is safety in numbers and friendships are a major added bonus! So a friend and I started "Glamper Gals" glamping is Glamorous Camping, not roughing it but a comfy bed with a feather quilt, an electric blanket if need be and all the creature comforts of home and more!! We welcome any age group, with any type of caravan or tent or if people have neither they can use caravan park facilities like cabins or on site vans. We have organized a trip to Halls Gap on the 1st till 3rd June 2012 and all girls are welcome, however...no pets, no kids and no boys though! Please PM me or go to the Facebook page in my signature to know more. However this thread is about my resto, so I'd better get back to that! Here are some progress shots: My new 4x4, called "Jack" (sold the blue vw beetle) and "Jill" my caravan!

After having the bearings greased, a new towing hitch with braking system installed and three new tyres...these guys were so good to me, top fellas! The little area above my kitchen: Single bed, just for me! Cocktail bar where my wardrobe used to be....what they hey, I'll fold my clothes! Bar to right, kitchen to left, end of van ready to be relined and I have two very small rocking and swivelling comfy armchairs out of an American motorhome to put down that end. Unfinished kitchen with all the tools and paint in there...and my WINE COOLER! : View from the back corner: So Jill is still unfinished but I am too excited to wait to go away so I'll take her unfinished to Halls Gap, but the rest is roadworthy so I'll just keep working on her when I get back. I love her, my little playhouse on wheels!

Gees, Trish, that IS a nice job! You've turned it into a great little home for travelling in, so lucky you picked a Travel Home to begin with. Amazing job on the inside layout! Certainly some really good ideas in there. And how about that monster truck you've got! I reckon you could easily put another Travel Home van behind yours and tow both together! Congratulations on a great effort with your van! ;D ;D cheers, Al.

Hello Al and Heather, thanks for the well wishes. The Jackaroo certainly IS a big step up from my VW Beetle! The van weighs 740kg's, but I like the idea of going anywhere and the 4x4 is safe for the area we live where we do get a lot of roos, emu and other wildlife. It ticked all the boxes because it also has 7 seats and can double as mum's taxi! I am loving the interior and if Dave and the kids can't find me they know to look outside an into my "cubby house"!
