hi all was thinking of putting a product like Duralite on my walls as its an insulation. as i can gather it has maybe ali on both sides with like a honey combe on the inside does any one know if there is some thing like that, that i could use instead of just putting ply on the walls name and price would be good please. also where to buy it from regards peter

hi every one, going to get my floor today. will get form ply f14 which is 17mm because i cant find a smaller size . its 2mm bigger than the one i took out so would that had alot of weight what do you all think answer would be good asap, as i havent gone and got it yet regards peter

hi again every one also im in the need of a water tank for our van if any one has any ideas on what to put in there it would be great i only have 4 holes on the chassie 2 ether side. so im not sure how it was fitted or what size it was regards peter

Hi Peter, If you look in the hall of fame you will find various types of insulation used in different rebuilds. I guess you need decide which one suits your purpose, best Regards Teflon

well got the floor today, went with 15mm bc exteria ply and bort apoxi resin to coat the floor under neath got it cut and in the van but have to do some final trims before screwing it down. once im happy with it will use a plunge router to put over laps on them and finish with the resin on the bottom will put pics up soon looks good regards peter

hi alex and jean, yeah im quite happy with the floor and we got it for $76.00 ps. which was not bad considering we i live im in the proses of making new guards out of stainless that i have at home as ive tried today to get some replacement ones but no luck. one bloke quoted me ,wait for it, $600.00 each out of a thin tin. you could guess what i said not sure on how to make the guards yet. any ideas plan would be good regards peter

have made my new steel guards and will post pics of them soon insread of curved guards i made oblong to use the top of the guards in the cupboards, they look quite smart regards peter

atog thanks for the great words, we are enjoying it i was talking with al about insulation and he said to ask you because you put it in yours, so could you please help me out most of our travelling will be up here and nt so the cooler the better regards peter

G'day Peter, That's a pretty good-looking job on the guards. They are exactly the same as the guards I have in my 1956 van in the shed, although mine are made from the galvanised metal you could get back in those days, and the joints have been soldered. Yours will surely outlast the plastic type that was popular in the 1970s. cheers, Al.

thanks AL after talking to a caravan repairer, he said that if a tyre blows it wrecks the plastic guards so made those and will be the bottom shelf in the cupboards i have the old plastic ones still, a bit broken, do you think some one may want them, as we cant buy them any more i would put them on here as for give away thanks for the good words on the guards, they dont make caravans square,ha,ha regards peter

your guards look great Peter, we are planning boxed guards too, much more practical than the rounded ones.

Hi Peter92. I just finished restoring my nightmare. It is a 1970's Baravan. Construction is very similar. The Bara used 20mm RHS in it's frame. I ended up reducing it to just the shell with no floor! Started there, fitted 2 water tanks, a new floor, then lined it and built a 750 X550 shower cubicle. I have about 200 pics of the process. Happy to share them with you. I lined it with "Renoir Beech" from Gunnersons and the roof in 3mm Gloss ply. The biggest stumbling block (more of a mental block) was making the shower door.
