Wow.. some collection of extras. Sounds like it was a real good buy and it runs all your stuff too, that would make you happy. I do not have room to carry that sort of luxury Wife observed this when we were in Rocky. She thought it would be good for us as it would power the Microwave and her hair dryer. I suggested it might be a little big to put in the boot of her car. ;D [300hp Ruston Engine 250kva 415v 3 phase]

Howdy Bobt, Now thats what you do call a Genny, Yes, there could be a problem towing it, especially if it's behind the Austin and hanging off the back of "Ugly as Sin" Can you just imagine firing it up in some Caravan Park for a cuppa at 7.00 am ;D ;D ;D ;D You would probably cop the "Big Four" alright ;D kiwijim ;D

Well, after near on six months of rebuilding and renewing just about everything in and on the Coaster, we finally got to the stage of getting the Insurance organised today. The only Mob who would have anything to do with a 35 year old Motor home was the C.M.C.A. insurance so, after parting with very nearly $400.00 we are ready for the road. Only 20 sleeps to go and we're "out of ere" A few Pics of the improved Coaster......... The window behind the Passenger seat is removed, the Toilet is now sitting here. The Roo Bar has been lifted and strengthened, plus a large Spot Light fitted. The old boot removed and this box fitted to house the new generator. The Shower has had a repaint with new curtains. Looking forward, showing the new oven and bench top Looking towards the rear, new draws between the single beds, there is a D.V.D player above the draws and a Satellite receiver box above that. Yes I scored a complete Satellite system off GUMTREE everything included for $200.00. Well we're almost ready for more pics of our travels, so keep an eye out for some really super Dash photos very shortly Folks. Cheers kiwijim & the "Boss ;D ;D ;D

G'day there Bobt, How very observant of you, noticing the new pillows. The "Dear one" reckons the bus will be fully equipped from now on so, new this and that, all the creature comforts and it all stays there, no more dragging stuff out of the house, just fire the Coaster up and away. ;D ;D ;D This trip, starting on the 25Th will see us heading "slowly" down South, after spending 5 days on the road we will be camping in the South-West town of Augusta for a month, plenty of good fishing, a few ales at Beer-o-clock, plenty of reading and the early morning walk around the fore-shore. The reason I lashed out and bought the Satellite receiver is two-fold, firstly because it was cheap and secondly is because down at the bottom end there is no reception of normal t.v. too many hills around the town, I recall the last time we were down that way there was also no reception for phones or Internet either, a real sleepy little, slow as you like, country town, right on the waters edge. With the ankle biters back at school the place will be chokers, full of Grey Nomads and folk our own age, should be some good nights around some-ones camp fire. I would love to keep going after our month is up but, unfortunately we have to return to Perth because of the "Dear ones" on-going treatment. We will still be getting away on the occasional week-end and hopefully by June we will be able to get this tour of the Wild Flowers organized, so get U.A.S. ready, you've around 5 months to make it over this way. ;D ;D ;D kiwijim ;D

Howdy there Teflon, Yep, the lawn is longing for some sun-shine, it's been covered by a caravan for longer than I can remember, maybe a month of open space will help it along. By all means drop around, bring a coldie if you wish but the fridge here is pretty well stocked at the moment. ;D ;D ;D If ya really keen, you could even chuck a lawn mower in the ute he he he , only joking. give us a whistle before you come, just to make sure we're home and bring the Bride with you. Catch ya all soon kiwijim

Howdy peterg, The 4.4 kva Genny I purchased has an auto choke, All I have to do to start it is, turn on fuel and Ign, pump the primer a couple of times and open the tank breather, usually fires after a few good pulls on the string, the battery takes a lot of charging before it will turn over the motor but, when charged fires it up first whack from the remote. Like you, I received the hand book for the 3.5 kva model when I first got mine, After repeated requests for the right hand book, I finally gave it up as a lost cause, they kept sending me the same (wrong) book every time, even after I explained that hand book didn't show the digital read-out that my Genny had. On a whole I am happy with the 4.4 model, it runs every-thing in the bus , no worries. The rather higher than expected noise level is a bit of a worry and one other thing, don't try to lift your Genny after the tank has been filled, dam near put my back out getting it into the bus boot. kiwijim

Glad to be of some help there peterg, I noticed in the paper work for the Genny, they have mentioned several times that it has an auto cut-off if it should run low on oil, As I've only run mine for about 5hrs, I am wondering how much oil the motor does use ? I'm carrying a bottle of oil with us just in case. We do hope to have a pleasant break away in the Coaster, unfortunately, the weather prediction for next Thursday is 38deg, this will be a bit of a test for the cooling system in the bus. I will be taking plenty of pictures alright, but where we are heading, there is very limited reception for the Internet, I may have to wait until we return home before I can post anything, However we will see how we go. cheers kiwijim.

Well almost on the eve of loading the "New edition to the Family" and stacking all the goodies ready for the trip East, Decided to take the Coaster up the road this morning for the fuel, "Flamin thing" had other ideas...... 1/ the fuel pump decided to give up and stop working, 2/ the ignition light would not go off, 3/ the fuel gauge didn't raise a thou, 4/ the hand break light stayed off with the brake on, Got a Auto Electrician coming tomorrow, Wonder what it will cost I reckon I'm just lucky it happened at home not in the Desert, One look at the mass of wiring in these Coasters, Who knows where to start kiwijim

"Now isn't that just great" A Bloke has a guilty conscience after missing out on meeting a bloke on a recent trip "Around the Block" And when he finally goes to make amends, and travel 3000 km just to say "G-DAY" , what does this bloke plan to do.......... "SKIP TOWN" I ask Ya Guys & Gals,...... Who Is This Fella !!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D To answer your question any-way Bobt,Departure date is still un-decided, It still depends on a couple of things happening here, one being getting the Coaster fixed this afternoon. I may not say when we will be off, just to catch you on the hop. ;D ;D

G'day kiwijim,
I've become quite an "expert" in soldering terminals onto the ends of wires, after having to fix up some dodgy brothers wiring on my van. So if you need any soldering done on the bus wiring, give me a call. ;D ;D
cheers, Al.

Gday Kiwijim As you say better to find the problems around the corner than in the middle of nowhere. As I read on a T shirt somewhere "If its got wheels or t..s its gunna be trouble" ;D ;D Shouldnt cost to much to fix them couple of minor things and then you'll be on the road!! Have a great trip and if you get to the Gemmies give us a hoy Cheers Andy

Howdy Guys, One happy Kiwi Bloke here, ;D ;D ;D The Auto Fix-it Bloke has come and gone, the problem turned out to be a bit of corrosion on the main ignition fuse, a couple of swipes with a bit of sand paper (Borrowed from me) and $100 later the Coaster is firing on all pots and sounding really happy to chew up the tar seal. Thanks for the offer of the soldering job Al, one of us would want a rather long power lead though. ;D ;D ;D G'day there Andy, well one of my plans is to go looking for some gem stones down Vic way. I have been doing some very interesting reading about the Eldorado area, seems that they almost guarantee that you will find some Gems in the rivers and creaks in that area, probably a bit of advertising for the area but, it may be worth a visit. I'll give you a chance to hook-up the Viscount in case I have a good find. ;D ;D Cheers kiwijim ;D

Howdy Dave,
Thanks for the offer Mate, We sure will be looking for a good cuppa by the time we hit your side of the Sand Drift.
This time we will have a heap more time on our hands and we're not going so far, so hopefully we will catch up to a number of members in S.A. and VIC. that we missed last time around.
I'll send a P.M. for your address as soon as we hit the road.
Cheers kiwijim ;D

Thanks for the Pic's Bobt, looks like you know the area, could be very useful when we strike it rich, Gotta have some-one to carry the buckets. ;D ;D ;D I read some-where that the Gold dredge is going to be done up to its former glory, should make a good tourist attraction. I can smell that yella stuff already. ;D ;D kiwijim ;D
