Well done guys ;D ;D ;D Koonalda was a fuel stop on the old Nullarbore before they finished the newer Nullarbore further to wards the coast.I was lucky enough to stop there in 1962 with my father when we "immigrated" from NSW to WA. The homestead is now under control of National Parks and the homestead is still as the above picture. Forum member 73Kenworth,John,married a lady who's parents ran/owned Koonalda way back then. A Google search will bring up some very interesting history and facts on Koonalda. Hopefully to wards the end of this year early next year i hope to have a look over the property and caves with John and Gwenda. The caves have the oldest Aboriginal paintings ever recorded. Over to Bob and Jacquie Dave

Thanks for the birthday wishes,
The bloke standing in the fire is a Spanish firefighter. I think the name of the games he was over here for is called the Policeman and Firefighters Games which were held in Adelaide that year. Having said all that the camp fire was in NT close to a popular tourist icon ;D ;D ;D
Cheers Bob and Jacqui

Right on the money Dave. ;D ;D ;D The camp fire was at the base camp for the four wheel drive bus tours. I put the pic up as I was amazed to see that bloke walk out of the dark and just stand in the hot coals Altogether it was a great trip and met some nice people. To find the Joe Blake google up Bogangles Alice Springs..the bar is aptly named the snake pit ;D heaps of old stuff hanging off the walls and ceiling. Worth a look if your ever there. Over to you Cheers Bob
