G'day bobandjacqui, The telescopes look like the ones at Narrabri in northern NSW. I've asked them to see if they can track down the 16-footer Viscount I'm looking for. If they can find stars out on the edge of the universe, finding a Viscount with an island bed should be a piece of cake for them. I've got no idea where the other photos are from. Are there any Viscounts hidden in the bushes there?? cheers, Al

Google...shmoogle! Danged if I can work out what/where your photos are. The telescopes are west of Narrabri (about 20-odd kms if I remember correctly). I've been studying my genuine 1993 BP road atlas, but I can't see any mountains or hills that are west of Narrabri. Are you sure the photos are from the telescope side, and not the east side where Mt. Kaputar and Mt. Lindsay are?? (those mountains are showing on the road atlas.) On a totally separate note... When we went up to Crows Nest last year, we stayed overnight at the Narrabri showground. The address I had was for a certain street name. Our Tomtom GPS didn't have that street name in its directory (stupid gps maps). What to do? We drove around looking for an Information Centre to get a local map. As we travelled up and down the main street, I happened to notice a street sign saying the main street was the street we were looking for! Everywhere else it's the Newell Highway, but in town it's called something else. So, the gps mapping didn't even have the main street name in its system. Bloody frustrating! Anyway, I still don't know where your photos are taken... cheers, Al.

G'day Al, Mate the pics were taken at a place called SAWN ROCKS They are in the Mt Kaputar national park. We dragged our van through there to a town called Bingara. Not a trip for the faint hearted caravanner. Very steep and winding road with no traffic. We travelled a lot of the back roads on our way home just to see some different scenery as we travelled down to Mildura on the well used highways. Google up Narrrabri NSW and scroll to accomadation, tours and events and you'll see a pic of Sawn Rocks So I reckon it's over to you for the next pic ;D ;D ;D Cheers Bob

G'day Bob, I did pick up on the "SAW" clue, but it still didn't help when I looked at the old BP road atlas. Couldn't find anything with the letters 'saw' in it. Anyhoo...if you are familiar with the coast of northern NSW, you'll know where this is... so where is it? cheers, Al.

Sheesh, I would have thought all of you would recognise that wave coming into shore in the photo above!... What about if I pan the camera 45 degrees to the left, and show you the view from that angle?... Now do you know where this is?? (ps. our dog has never been one for taking in the views. She's much more interested in the "hunk" running around behind me. ) cheers, Al.

Yep, Byron Bay...the most eastern part of the Australian continent, although the pictures I've shown are taken from around the north side of the Byron Bay lighthouse headland, and from the beach carpark. We parked the car and van in the carpark contrary to the signs that said "No Buses, Trucks, or Trailers." But at least I paid the parking meter for two spaces, and not just one... Looks like you're up again, Bob... ;D
