1978 Viscount poptop caravans: This is our 1978 Viscount pop top van we purchased in Katherine NT in July 2008. It was missing the range hood and fridge but was other wise in very good clean original condition with full length annex which was also in good condition. It was fitted with almost new 8ply tires, electric brakes and two spare tires fitted underneath the van. I have since re painted the van and touched up the inside. All the fly screens and windows work perfectly. The van has been extremely reliable. On pulling a few items out to clean or replace my personal observation is that they were made very cheaply with a lot of chip board used in cupboards and shelves...........and that disgusting Viscount GREEEEEN But on having said that for a 31 year old caravan its still in good solid condition and if i was going to keep it i would not hesitate to drag it around Australia. One major bad design was the placement of the rear internal light. Its placed in a spot that its easy to bump you head on and end up breaking the glass cover Any way here are some pics of the old girl.
