Can anyone please show me any photos/designs of bed frames, I'm almost up to making a double bed which will go across the back of the van and I'm a bit lost as to how best to design this and finding timber is proving to be quite a challenge too. All I keep coming back to is pine. I'm hoping to put a drawer in the centre and also have some hinges to lift up for items stored in the side of my van............ Any help would be gratefully accepted

G'day katescaravan,
Nothing wrong with using pine. Quite satisfactory for structural purposes in these vans, but not the best surface if you want a smooth, high-gloss painted finish.
Have a read of a recent post of mine: link
cheers, Al.

Can anyone please show me any photos/designs of bed frames Heres a link to the bed that I constructed across the back of the van. Design inspiration must go to Camich here. Bed is on page 3 of his/her huge renovation. All I keep coming back to is pine. I used metres and metres of dressed pine in framing of the bed. It does a good job and is easy to work with.

Thanks for your prompt reply Al- this looks like a great place to start With all the cutting coming up, if you do not have one, Bunn**gs have a drop saw for $59.00, amazing value & perfect for 2x1 pine. The blade is also a fine tooth so you can make fractional cuts, for close matching.

Hey Mustang, I picked up the drop saw. Was it the Ozito? Cost me $65 in Townsville but it has a 3 year warranty so I'm happy. Thanks for the heads up
