SOLVED: Thanks for all the help. here is a link to a bit of a how to I did.... 1978 Viscount Pop Top Refurb - Flyscreen RepairsHi all! We have just sold our 1974 ACT Camper and now in a 1978 16' Viscount pop top. One of the things on the agenda is to repair all the flyscreens. After numerous phone calls and some really really way out ideas from a 'tradesman' we spoke to a local caravan dealer who said that all we have to do is iron on new screen to the old rubbers so long as the rubbers are still serviceable. Has anyone done this before? If so what do we have to look out for/tips/traps of this method. Worth a go if it is feasable. Otherwise I'll order new ones off the net. Thoughts?

Hi Matt, I've done it many times in the past.Easy to do,get a flat surface, put new fibreglass flywire on top of old rubber, and use a hot soldering iron.Job done! Good luck! hughdeani

Thanks for that. Didn't think of using a soldering iron. I have an old one that I use for repairing cracks in plastics that should do the job nicely. We are old hands at the old up and out campers but newbies to caravans so I'll be calling on the wisdom of the caravan gods to get through this phase ;-).

Use black fibreglass flywire ,it cuts down glare.
