Hi
New to this forum,
We're doing up our 80's Viscount Van and need the original cupboard and drawer catches, the brown ones that screw to the trim around the doors and drawer edges.
I know they're as scarce as poo behind a rocking horse but if I never ask I'll never find any.
Any amount of them would be great.
So if your doing up your van and have replaced the catches with later ones I'd be glad to buy the older ones from you.

G'day Ron these catches are slightly different to the original GT cupboard catches they are narrower and a different shape so you will have to play around with the positioning a bit to avoid holes(see pics,I have one in my van) but I'd need 32 of them to keep everything the same.Seriously if you need under 20 I'd grab them as Ive been looking for 3 of the originals for a long time and as you say they are nearly impossible to get Cheers Andy  Original  ebay  |

I have just found this excellent site.
I have recently bought a rough 1979 (I Think) Viscount Supreme to live in while away for work.
Most of the latches and catches are broken, but I have some available that are being replaced during the reno - let me know if you still require some

Gday Wickedcat Are your catches the same as the top pic above ? If so how many and what $$$ are you looking for cause I,m interested. I'm in central queensland at the moment if you want to calculate postage into the price ! Cheers Andy |

Hello Andy,
The catches I have are original Viscount (top photo) - however some have paint on them, which could be scrubbed off. I know I have 6 catches and 12 latches, plus some original hinges - I thought I had more and am trying to locate them.
Over the next day or so I will upload a photograph of them and you can let me know what they are worth to you.

G'day Chris The hinges arent really of any use to me but am interested in the 4 catches and 4 of the strikers(with the least amount of paint on) How would you feel about $20 for the four including slipping them into a small post pak bag and sending them to me in Emerald in Qld If you are interested let me know here and I'll ring you on your mobile to organize payment(direct to your bank account) and my PO Box number for you to send them to Cheers Andy |

I actually have 6 of these catches that I can find at the moment - the last 2 are better than what is in the photo.
If you want all 6, I think that $30.00 including postage would be a fair price - let me know

Hi guys i am also after these catches, as my 3 year old decided it a good idea to rip 1 off, and searching for them on the net led me to this site. so any help or ideas where to get theses catches from would be much appreciated thanks Steve..

Howdy Steve These catches are getting a bit hard to source but they do come up ( I'll use these that I got from Chris myself-sorry) Maybe Chris has a couple more (have to wait for him to post) Keep your eye on the forum as others do update to newer catches sometimes or try older caravan dealers or older caravan parks as they sometimes sell old bits and pieces. I spoke to Wal Williams from forbes caravans a while back and he gave me some telephone numbers for some contacts in NSW that may have some old parts(I'll have a look to see if I can find them- might be a couple of days as my van is in rockhampton getting a suspension upgrade) Cheers Andy |

Oh me too! Anyone, anyone got any more...please contact me. I've got a 1979 Viscount and have over the past week (NOBODY KNOWS WHY I'M DOING THIS) inadvertently smashed THREE of these cupboard latches. so my towels are falling out on my head. And ... yes, like all of us, I LOVE the van's original latches so am looking to replace them. They are the exact same latches as pictured just above here (the more tan-brown but i'm not going to be fussy about what brown - just as long as they are brown and the original shape). I'll keep checking back to see if some come up... or i can be emailed direct on becksletters@yahoo.com.au. Thanks in advance (fingers crossed).
